Disappointing that you think these fans should be allowed because it’s accepted Palace fans and other fans did lesser provocative stuff. Unbelievable. Hang your head in shame.
The police have a duty to keep the public safe. They are there to protect life and property. In this case they have made, with absolutely no doubt, the correct decision.

Politicians should keep far away from this. It is a matter for police not some politician.

Imagine if they allow Tel Aviv supporters to attend and there was serious disorder which caused a single death or serious injury to anyone. I think there would be many who would suggest the police should have done more to stop such an incident. If a family member or friend, not involved in any protest etc. but were just attending the game ended up in hospital or worse, never returned home, we know who would be shouting the loudest. And in that case rightly so perhaps.

Let the police, police and let the politicians do what they do best, which, thinking about it, is probably not very much.

The UK’s West Midlands Police used fictitious evidence to justify their suggestion to ban Israeli fans of the Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team from attending a match in Birmingham last month, the force’s chief admitted to a Parliament committee Monday, as MPs grilled police brass on the basis of their controversial decision.

The Aston Villa soccer club announced in October that no Maccabi fans would be allowed at a November match following a police assessment that classified the event as “high risk” and suggested banning Israeli fans from the stadium.
Makes sense now. Young Boys never got a ban, yet their fans have quite a reputation and have caused quite a few riots around the place.

Turns out West Midlands Police fabricated some facts given to them from the Dutch police.
Very dangerous times when you have no confidence in your policing force.
    A shame.

Appalling! Should we be surprised that the decision was to appease a certain local community and certain MP?S. I hope those responsible are sacked!

West Midlands Police has officially apologized for claiming that the Jewish community approved of its ban on Israeli Maccabi TLV fans attending a match against Aston Villa on November 6.
The new apology relates to an incident during a Home Affairs Select Committee earlier in December, where Assistant Chief Constable Mike O'Hara responded 'yes' when asked if there were Jewish community representatives who said they did not want Maccabi Tel Aviv fans to attend the fixture.

However, this was not the case, and Ruth Jacobs, chair of Birmingham and West Midlands Jewish Community, said she had been "horrified" at the claim.
Guildford apologized to the Home Affairs Select Committee on behalf of himself and O'Hara, and said there was never any intention to mislead. He also relayed that O'Hara had formally apologized to Jacobs - and that the apology had been accepted.
So, anybody going to be sacked for this misinformation?

If it was Galatasry fans being banned it would be okay then.

West Midlands Police chief constable Craig Guildford has apologised to MPs for giving them "erroneous" evidence about the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, blaming the use of AI.

It comes on the day Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, is due to make a statement to MPs after receiving a report on the decision to bar the Maccabi fans from attending a Europa League match against Aston Villa in November.

The force has been accused of misrepresenting the threat to justify advocating the exclusion of the Israeli club's fans from the match at Villa Park in Birmingham.

Home secretary says she has no confidence in police chief following 'damning' report into Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban
Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, has said she no longer has confidence in the chief of West Midlands Police, following the force's decision to ban Israeli football fans from attending a game in the UK.
The police force announced in October that supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv would not be able to attend the club's match against Aston Villa in Birmingham the following month, due to safety concerns.
