No. A one goal victory to them would reflect the game imo. The difference was Ekitike.

Cant believe even saying that, but is Gordon our best forward right now?

The game was not a 4-1 game.

The way that the goals were conceded was extremely frustrating.

    Total Games: 30
    Wins: 0
    Draws: 5
    Losses: 25

Anfield has never been a happy hunting ground.

30 games since the last win.

It just hurts more due to the Summer. Prior to the renewed hatred this wouldn't have felt so bitter a defeat.

That said. It wasn't good enough by a country mile.

Ah, I see the board's back up again. Recently its been about as much use as we were in the 2nd half!

Couldn't watch the game last night but recorded it to watch today. Thought we were good for most of the 1st half, could very easily have gone 2-0 up. Liverpool were absolute crap until late in the half and, as Rag says, def not a 4-1 game by any means. But our lack of end product is getting seriously worrying. I was disappointed that bringing on Woltemade and Wissa gave us nothing at all by way of extra bite. Our run of losses without Bruno marches on.....

An absolute cvnt that we couldn't have signed Etikite. From what I saw, this season might be very different if we had.

Joao Pedro and Ekitike both proving that Eddie was right as they were both top targets for the Toon. Sadly went to the two clubs we're currently fighting it out for the UCL place next season.

The bedwetters are stacking up the evidence for the case against Eddie Howe to remain as manager. The more hysterical screaming at cameras and demanding the club nuke their entire season and sack him immediately.

I want to state that it's not good enough and saying the same things match after match is starting to cause rifts in the fan base and seeing the negative noise grow louder and more people going from Pro-Howe to on the fence, whilst the fence sitters are leaning toward the Howe-Out brigade.

With Gordon, Murphy's goals evaporating this season, Tonali looking a shadow of himself the lack of cohesion in the squad exposed during the extended absences Bruno & Joelinton.

The squad is aging out. There is around 7 players who are out of contract in the summer 2026:

    Kieran Trippier (Defender)
    Fabian Schär (Defender)
    Jamaal Lascelles (Defender)
    Emil Krafth (Defender)
    Matt Targett (Defender)
    Harrison Ashby (Defender)
Aaron Ramsdale (Goalkeeper – Loan from Southampton with an option to buy)

Schar and Trippier are the most notable.

There is around 7 players who are out of contract in the summer 2027:
    Nick Pope (Goalkeeper)
    Dan Burn (Defender)
    Joe Willock (Midfielder)
    Jacob Murphy (Midfielder/Winger)

I believe that Pope's contract had a 1 yr extension to 2027. However, he could be also out this summer.

However you cut it. The squad needs a massive overhaul and serious investment is going to be spent in the summer.

I can understand the reason to not spend in Jan if the key targets aren't available.

That being said, this summer the club need to do their business aggressively and early. The only way the club has a chance of being competitive next season is to have pretty much the whole squad assembled at the start of pre-season to ensure Eddie can drill them on the patterns and tactics.
