Nope. finito and a crock I'm afraid. He will be 35 in August. Looked slow and off the pace in the couple of games I saw him in on tv.

Also have a feeling McGinn might resign.

McGinn won't be back, his house was emptied the other week and contents shipped back to N Ireland

Mutual friend told me he's set on moving abroad, more than likely outwith Europe.

He's off to Melbourne this week to take a look at what's on offer there, then heading to a non English speaking country where he's been offered £20k a week after tax.

Stumbling block on the mystery country is that his mrs is not keen on the move there, he is though and who can blame him for that kind of money.

    Has he got a mrs?

I thought he was trying to get away with a different woman every week when he was here.

surprised to hear that tbh, thought his place in the norn irland squad was important to him. Going to timbuctoo or Melbourne will pretty much end that. I suppose the 20k will soften the blow.

    Not necessarily.
NI has a small player pool and I'm sure it was Aaron Hughes that played for NI whilst playing in India

Can't see it being a problem as they've not exactly got alot of players to pick from. At the same time he's already played at a major international tournament, which ticks that box and with a huge offer on the table he'd be foolish not to go and have a look out there!

Bolton, Nottingham Forest & Oxford also made him offers

Considering the players that have left we have added Tansey so far and now Stewart who at least can play against septic. All a bit underwhelming so far and really highlighting the market we are competing in. No obvious prospect of anyone new coming in to persuade anyone thinking twice about getting a season ticket.

Still required with utmost urgency are replacements for Hayes, McGinn and Taylor otherwise we are starting way behind last seasons squad. Not so much Taylor but he was a mainstay in our defence which was mostly pretty solid.

Stewart is the replacement for Hayes. Wright/Christie will fill the Mcginn role and anything can do the Taylor one
