Tories have done very little for me or my family in all the time I've voted. Don't despise the Tories, just won't vote for them.
Don't particularly like Boris or Cummings and think Rishi Sunak and Raab come across much better.
My kids / grandkids were brought up to realise everyone can better themselves and not to sponge off other people, all of them are doing fine.
Didn't vote in December so can't say too much.
Expecting some unpalatable legislation pushed through later on next year

The sooner Keir Starmer gets Labour organized the better, you do need effective opposition regardless who is in Government.

One thing I disagree with animal is about the Tony Blair years.

Agree. You need constructive opposition in the form of labour ATM. Problem is for the past 10 years the labour opposition has been neither constructive or reasonable. All that have done is argue for argument sake or blames /finger pointed. I hope like many that starmer is the key to bringing balance back to the UK.
That's my point frank. They have done very little for you so you kinda hold a grudge against them and don't trust them.
If Johnson did a lot for you frank and even more for your generation too come, surley you would vote for them!

No cayton I wouldn't vote Tory if I was better off under them, just won't vote for them and it's nothing to do with grudges or anything to do with trust.
Blair at huge cost just about had the NHS sorted, at least waiting times were acceptable, ( as I say at huge cost ) Everything has to be paid for, the NHS is a big black hole as far as cash is concerned.
Don't mind paying extra tax if I know where the cash down to the last penny is being used.

Edit : financially I'm better off with a Conservative government. .....healthwise I'm better off with a Labour government....which are few and far between.

What impartial sources would you recommend Grist?

John people shouldn’t have to recommend impartial sources to you, as a grown man you should be able to use google

Au contaire. I know how to use Google and find balanced sources.

It's just that Grist likes to keep implying I blindly believe sources that tell me what to think, so I keep laying the gauntlet for him to suggest better sources of news.

He can't have his cake and eat it - if he wants to keep telling me I'm gobbling up a biased media he needs to tell me what sources he thinks are better.

I mean this is obviously all a big pretence, I know full well he will avoid answering because it would humiliate him, just like I did in another post where he's now gone to the trouble of pretending he's ignoring me so he can avoid having to reply to it and messages like this.

I do get a little tickle imaging what shade of vimto his face is going.

It wouldn't be a very big bunny it would be pulling a Tyrannosaurus out of Jacob Rees - Moggs top hat .

Instead of going down the route of turning water in to wine what I will say is that my Labour vote is no more a gimme and they will have to earn it .

I'll be more than interested how they go about reclaiming the red wall .

There are a couple of Tory values I can reconcile with , I do think people should take more responsibility for their lives and I do think people should pull themselves up by their boot straps with education and graft .

Living off the state should never be a lifestyle choice either .

But you always have to accept that a small percentage are unemployable or have no backbone .

Taking a huge stick to the benefit system and causing misery and sometimes death itself to people who do have genuine disabilities or mental illnesses isn't particularly smart either and actually just adds to the problem .

Kerr and myself very rarely agree on anything but he's right about governments trying to solve difficult problems with simple solutions that don't stack up and that goes across the political divide .
