'reserved for spring and the return of warmth and sunshine'........ When's that then?? 🤔

So, Christmas, the time for peace and good will to all men (other genders are available) or just another excuse for over the top commercialism and self indulgence?

I'd say for 95% of us its a lot more the latter than the former, but given the tenor of the debate on here over the last 12 months over social equality, diversity, inclusiveness and so forth, I rather assume that at least two of us merry band of brothers will be inviting some homeless people or asylum seekers into our homes to share the joy of Christian celebration, good food, mulled wine and the kings speech?

For one, I most certainly will not, but it would be interesting to hear the perspective of the more liberal, caring members of this cross section of society.

I don’t know if I’m one of those two, GP, but no, like you I won’t, not least because I won’t be at home on Christmas Day, well not for the majority of it anyway and not for Christmas Dinner.
I’m not sure I quite follow your logic about being in favour of social equality and diversity equating to inviting people into my home, but we will be contributing relatively generously to Crisis at Christmas which you may, rightly or wrongly, regard as a bit of a cop out, but which probably achieves at least as much.

I believe from observing rA's liking for plenty of holidays each year warmth and sunshine probably come back in March

I for one probably will, despite being derided by the usual suspects when I mentioned it (it being Christmas Day spent doling out grub to the homeless), I don?t recall the exact words but it was somewhat dismissive
