Thank you, what a nice post. It won't fall through and it's maybe delayed as we wanted a good payoff which is fair as LW is a very good manager. People can point to the defence but I believe he did the best with what he had back there, we didn't have the budget to work on all areas of the team before this season. Some of the football we have played is far above League 2, even when we lost 4-2 on Monday, the play from 1 nil down to 2-1 up was just so good. With good defenders he will do very well with you. He has also developed players or changed their game/positional play very well.
Langstaff I think would do a job at Championship level due to the type of player he is. He's mainly a box man and gets alot of his goals from turning in crosses, six yards headers or rebounds from shots from the keeper or defender. This would translate to the championship if he gets the right service, he can finish is I guess what I'm saying and is improving still. I hope though that you don't take him as taking Williams is enough thank you ha ha.
Good luck to you for the rest of the season as well.
Newport is still a 3 hour round trip to Swansea and that journey would take the p"*s every day.
Losing 5-1 to sutton 🤢
I bet on you lot the other day when you lost 4-2
Was that just going all out to equalise?
As when Russel was here we would play suicidal football.
Passing out of the back and the high press would have us, through defensive errors.
He won't get many 5-1 drubbings here.
Honestly He will have untill the end of the season and maybe 10 games next season to get it right.
We are not going up this year or going down.
I think we only need another 5 wins and we are safe.
I hope he gets backed?
Other than langstaff who else would you think he could take with him?
Have you got any wing backs that can defend and attack?
Randall is a great wing back and Junior Morias would make a great partner for Langstaff. Richard Brindly is a rock at the back. I think they would all be additions to your squad. Dan Crowley, Jodi Jones and John Bostock aren't all that, so don't believe anyone who says they are. We don't mind hanging on to them.
Going all out to equalise? 😂 ❎
Suicidal football? 😂 ✅
High press causing defensive errors ✅
Wing backs that can defend? 😂 ❎
Sounds like you know the potential problems with LW already! You’ll score a lot and see some fine football in the meantime though I suppose, as long as your dodgy owners don’t fire him after ten games!
The longer this goes on though I do wonder. They sound like the kind of owners to weasel their way out of paying any compensation by asking Luke to just quit and join them….a bit like Allardyce did. Has Luke got that in him?
We do have a couple of great goal keepers you may like to take off our hands 🤞
Wingbacks as well? You say your owners are penny pinching and still haven’t paid for a player. Firstly you have to stump up for LWs and RHs compensation, rumoured in excess of 500k, Langstaff is going to cost at least 2m so I would probably concentrate with the job in hand at the moment.
Ha ha your last question made me laugh, the answer would be no and sometimes they can't do either. We lost on Monday cause we can't defend, lost a major midfielder for the season 2 months ago, have no squad depth and like giving penalties away. We also don't play very well in second halves for some reason. Also we're quite lightweight and don't really have any aggressive players. When this style of football works it's beautiful but when the players haven't been confident or haven't mucked in then we can look pretty poor. We're still building though from NL and aren't Wrexham ha ha.
"Passing out of the back and the high press would have us, through defensive errors"
This could sum up alot of our problems but with being 2 leagues higher, then you should cope with it better than we do.
Maybe he has had talks & we have made a counter offer?
