Yip, know what yir sayin, yi get them in Blairgowrie tae etc.........![]()
You try calling a taxi driver from Strathclyde a Weedgie and see what response you get.
My mate made the mistake of saying to one of them , "it's ok for you weedgies, you get gigs every night in ump**** places , but we have to travel miles , and usually stay over to get a decent one"
The guy blew an absolute fuse... he said "we may sound like them to you guys, but trust me... we hate them more than you lot do!!!
In saying that, I do like to call some West coast non Weedgies a Weedgie just to see the reaction.![]()
Seemingly , they have them in Tenerife tae![]()
Before i forget yet again!
Im trying, and failing, to ignore the pish going on just now, whether that is government announcements or the rage that comes after it. But looking at the figures, i really cannot fathom why Boris has given dates for a new party by the end of April, or why Nic followed even though the message was a bit on the vague side. Daily figures since dropping below 900 about 3 weeks ago have been erratic, and todays 7 day average is 778 new infections, which is up again from yesterday which at 766 is the lowest since the Christmas peak. Lowest daily figure reported in the last 3 weeks has been 559, and 2 days later the high 1121.
However, the positive is the vaccine effort seems to be gathering pace again after the production blip and combined first/second doses are above 30000 again.
Cohort 3, 75-79 yo - estimate exceeded,
Cohort 4.1, People aged 70-74 - 98%,
Cohort 4.2, Clinically Extremely vulnerable - 88%
Cohort 5, People aged 65-69 85% (84) To be complete by early March to this point.
Cohort 6, 16-64 with underlying health is progressing.
Cohort 7, 60-64 i believe is progressing based on ensuring minimal waste.
Slow progress, but i do hope that reporting for Cohort 6 does come soon seen as that is the main focus now. I do think they are struggling for an estimate seen as the numbers of those who qualify are increasing a fair bit, with thinking that there are as many as 1 million in this Cohort.
For what its worth now, I dont think its all done and dusted yet, but the JCVI has gone the way i thought they would, and Gov.Scot are sticking to it like they have done from the start.
I have to ask why front line Police, Fire-Fighters, Teachers, people who travel for work like yourself and essential shop staff are not getting ahead start in this, because how long at full flow would it take to get them sorted? 10-14 days? Would also make a huge dent in Cohort 10 plus in the process.
i was getting Hep A, Hep B and polio/Diphtheria vaccines yesterday at ablemed at the michelin, the nurse who was giving me the jags said the same as you about police, teachers, shop workers etc all essential workers, she said they would be more than happy to help and if they were to do a sector say police who are just along the road in Douglas etc then it would make a big dent in the other age groups requiring the vaccine
I honestly don't know how the vaccine is getting categorised now. I know of six 49 Yr olds(same age as me) who have been jabbed with no underlying health issues, they're not key workers and they had appointments so weren't asked to fill in at the last minute to use up a surplus vaccination.
That's 6 people who could have been vaccinated at a later date and someone with a greater need could have been done quicker.
