You would like to think that Ben will show the same faith that Viktor has shown by committing to a new contract, we have after all shown great faith in bringing him through the junior ranks to where he is now. Money talks and if Burnley still want to come in for him they are fully entitled to do so.

Failing that, they will have had to wait a full season before Ben can leave on a free which by that time, they may well have focused on other players elsewhere and forgot about Ben.

I think he will need to prove he’s properly over his injury and he can rediscover his previous form before any decent clubs come in for him again

Ok, Wiles has a year left on £x ammount and could see that contract out and leave for nowt at the end of the season. He could sign a contract with us at £x ammount times 4 or 5 and still leave at the end of the season.

The benefit of him signing a contract now is that if he gets injured he'll be still under contract for 3 years and getting paid. On top of that he'll be putting 200k or 300k into his bank account this season.

Him not signing means he'll miss out on the money which won't be guarenteed in a years time.
