Don’t bother please, I’ve enough “made up chums” to enjoy golf, gambling, libations, retirement and let’s not forget......glue sniffing... for now, however, should one of us pass on, you will find the remainder in the local riviera or the further afield one topping up the tan, most importantly though, our home is our home and let’s hope no c@nt wins the league there tomorrow.

You constantly predict us getting papped out of the cups and not qualifying for Europe.
The club and manager therefore have exceeded your expectations
The off field sh@te is worse than the onfield to be honest. The subject of this thread being a key example. (Plenty of other pish) Never thought id bin my ST but life is full of surprises. Also didnt think i would choose 4th division German fitba over a pigs game at Pittodrie but here we are.

The onfield is just getting worse as time goes on. Not one game enjoyed this season

This is like trying to explain the offside rule to my goldfish. Someone else can have a go

Assuming the same costs, the club would still have the costs as you say to demolish Pittodrie, no sell on value, potential loss of revenue with reduced capicity during revelopment.

Like I said, I'm open to it being possible, but lets agree it would cost more and thus at the very least a commercial decision to move.
Why would I agree, when I just said it wouldnt cost more unless we were knocking the entire stadium down (no chance that will ever happen).

We would leave Dicks erection for a start.
We could also maybe do something revolutionary, that no-one has ever thought of before, and do a stand at a time? We may even be able to pay for it easier too, with having the whole thing paid for as we go rather than lumping a huge 50m bill around our necks from the off.

Just a few thoughts, but as you said, Milne does't get to sell off the ground and ofcourse we would be reduced to only 12,000 (again utter p!sh) capacity.

To me, this definitely is a very viable option that the current board just aren't interested in considering.

I think there is little doubt that redeveloping Pittodrie would cost more than a new stadium if for no other reason than we wouldn't have the £15Million from selling Pittodrie (hertz have spent £15Million and counting on one 7,000 seat stand) but that doesn't make it wrong.

However there is only one reason that we won't redevelop Pittodrie and he is called Stewart Milne. Cormack has already said he won't fund redeveloping Pittodrie so Milne would have to do it himself and the chances of that are nil. This is the man who has said that he has been looking for new training facilities for years yet he has not put in a single penny towards the £11M cost.

Just stop and think about that for a minute. The Chairman and biggest shareholder who is also in the top 5 richest people in the city hasn't spent one single penny of his own money on the new facility he claims he is desperate to have. That is just simply shocking. Anyone who believes he would fund the revelopment of Pittodrie is absolutely kidding themselves. That is why we will never redevelop Pittodrie. He is riding on the coat tails of Cormack/Crotty and it's a disgrace.

I'd accept we need to move if the argument was credible. Unfortunately the arguement is made by a man that's happy for the club to ground to a halt.

Anyone else believing him would be as well supporting rangers or Celtic.

Look at the picture at the top of this page.
Now imagine loosing (say) the front 8 rows of the SS. Increase the rake by 5-10 degrees and lift the roof my a meter or so. Hypothetical not getting my square out but hardly a massive Engineering task (Ekofisk anyone?)
Now a couple of metres or so has been gained so the main stand can be built steeper and a little further south.
Doesn't sound as outrageous as cantilevering the main stand over the Pittodrie St pavement (maybe easement issues) or the like but I suspect nothing of the sort was ever considered.

My point was even if the cost to build was the same, not being able to sell off Pittodrie or the costs to demolish (one stand at time or the whole stadium) means overall,

I'm in agreement, I don't doubt that a solution could be found, hence why I ultimately think this is driven by a commercial decision.

So that’s two lies & counting that Milne has told to sell the move. Want another one?
