No plans for that as far as I'm aware.

Would need to be rail seats anyway (like Parkhead's new corner section), or the areas couldn't be used for UEFA matches.

Milne mentioned it, didn't promise it would have safe standing area but he mentioned it in conjunction with the new stadium and what it should have.

As far as I am aware Gothenburg fans are not keen on the new stadium they have. Personally I liked it as its got seating and standing in away end and has two tiers. Also very compact and noisy.

But they IFK had a stadium there before and the new one was built on top unlike in Aberdeen where its just find a bit of land and build. Plus new stadium in Gothenburg is shared between lots of clubs - the shop at ground has memorabilia from all resident clubs - Orgryte, GAIS, IFK and other Gothenburg clubs. The national team also use the stadium as a base.

I don't want or think the new stadium will come about in Aberdeen. If it did come about a design similar to Gothenburg ground would be perfect for Aberdeen but I'm fearful it will just be another identikit crap design like a.n. other built nowadays.

It would be disgraceful if parts of Pittodrie are not integrated into any new stadium e.g. merkland granite entry point at Merkland road, some of the flooring mosaics inside Main stand entry area just to name two. Also they have never erected a statue at Pittodrie of a famous player (players) - lots of other clubs have this but never done at Aberdeen - why??

The Merkland granite wall was definitely part of the plans for Loirston, but just as part of a memorial garden.

Based on this image from 2010, let's hope they've got some better architects and planners on board now.

I think the only thing that will ultimately stop this going ahead if indeed it is stopped will be the financing or rather lack of it.

As for the nimby brigade, let them protest, it's their right to do so but they're pissing in the wind. I don't want us to move all the way out there in all honesty but as much as I have loved my 45 odd years going to Pittodrie I recognise we do need a new stadium quite badly so I'll be grudgingly happy to see it built.

You get grass feed at Parkhill garden centre. Its made from seaweed. Works wonders min. Kills weeds and thickens up the grass

Edit-with tips like that maybe i could be the new groundsman when Westhill is built
