reminded me of Lord Sumptions recent comments.

Lord Sumption warned that police had no legal power to enforce “ministers’ wishes” and that the public should not be “resigning their liberty” to over-zealous citizens in uniform.

I believe his inference - (not Common Law) - is to Stautes or Acts, so must be very careful (as individuals) in what we "consent" to.....in that "if" we (the people) believe that Governments are abusing their authority, then we can "Freely" withdraw our consent to it - we have that option - that is our right.....and I think goes a long way in explaining the agressive bully boy tactics that we're seeing more and more of from the Police - the People have become too willing in their obedience - the Police know this, the rules are weak - so feel the need (or are told) to Force them onto us as if to persuade them of being immovable/inflexible Law - even when we can see the foolishness of it - That is a Very Dangerous road for us to take - as like the Cop above....eventually, they'll feel they can just make them up as they go along, there'll be little protest - and where can that lead !

Those bloody cameras Norder, that young lad just needed a clip round the ear, but our Bobbies just can't administer rough justice any more, no wonder they get a bit stroppy, who wouldn't ?

On the subject of abuse of power, more worrying for me than the occasional abuse of temporary powers by some police officers was the power grab by the lawyers of the Supreme Court, who arbitrarily took it upon themselves, without any precedent whatsoever, to instruct our elected Government and Prime Minister, what he could and couldn't do in the execution of his duties on our behalf in Parliament.

And while we all like a good moan about our local constabulary, yesterday I got an email from my brother-in-law who lives in France, I've copied this straight out of the email, it's obvious we're not as far down the road as our cheese-eating neighbours are.....yet.

"No problems in supermarkets around here. People generally sensible. Except gendarmes who fined a guy in the village for not having an attestation when crossing the road to the public dustbins!"

Some gob****e with a camera phone would have a field day in England with that one wouldn't he.

Have you seen the Accrington bobby threatening to hit the suspect with "fake" charges?
Death rate is normal.
Testing - why bother - the kits are not fit for purpose anyway?
PPE is short but hardly justifies these completely OTT police tactics.
Crying about poor quantity of ventilators, don't know why, if you need one you are already dead.
Hospital capacity is currently running at 58%, which is low.
The Mayor of London is demanding an "ethnicity data" publication now.
I think he is suggesting BAME citizens are dying in greater numbers than our pensioners in care homes.
I suggest these over zealous policeman nip down to his HQ and lock the daft fu-cker up?

I know BT, insanity reigns, and imo a few jumped up little Hitlers in police uniforms are the least of our worries.

Besides asking about Bames, one of the muppets yesterday was asking why the death rate was so high in the UK compared to most other countries. Take out London and the rate in the UK is not high at all, a more interesting question would be why is the rate so high in London compared to the rest of the country, but for some reason no muppet wants to go there.

And then there's the continuous whine about PPE and testing and 'what are you going to about it Minister'. They seem so keen to pin everything on the government and I'm beginning to sense an element of panic in the lefty media bubble. If they can't blame the shortages of PPE and the testing fiasco on the government, then they might actually have to pin the blame where it really belongs, on the NHS who are the procurers for PPE, indeed I would think the NHS has a legal duty of care to it's employees, which includes providing them with adequate PPE, and on PHE which is the body responsible for the testing regime and is responsible for emergency health planning.

This might lead to a more fundamental question, which they will avoid at all costs, why is the NHS, envy of the world, and PHE, both publicly funded bodies, performing so much worse than most other countries which have, horror of horrors, privatised health care systems. Best not go there eh BT, best blame it on the government. Our woke lefty media will most certainly NOT go there.

I don't think it's prudent to politicise the dreadful lack of PPE for our doctors and nurses sinkov.

I have read somewhere this morning we should stop the country and have a minute's silence for the NHS workers who died from COVID-19.

It seems fairly obvious to me that if you incarcerate health workers in a hospital with patients who need treatment and care for the coronavirus, the least we could do would be to supply them with the necessary equipment to safeguard their lives?

I asked yesterday who is running this sh-itfest, the government or their "advisors"? Duty of care my arse!

Couldn't agree more BT, our woke lefty media should stop trying to politicise it by blaming individual government ministers, and put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the organisation responsible for procuring PPE for NHS staff, namely the NHS itself.

It also raises an interesting point, if we shouldn't be politicising this, then why do the media send their political journos to cover the announcements and ask the questions ? They do employ health correspondents as well, but they don't seem to get a look in. Just asking like, it's almost as though they want to politicise it.
