Touch wood it finally looks like the social distancing is working as the death toll has fallen two days in a row.

Probably at least another two weeks in lockdown though so it doesn't go up again.

What can I say to her ? , don't do it and think of yourself and me ? or be proud of her for the risk she's taking to help the most vulnerable in the borough who are really under the cosh , they were under the cosh before this pandemic and have been for years .

    Immensely worried .
I'm sure you'll be proud of her for everything she's done, and will continue to be proud of her if she comes to the conclusion that with her health concerns she steps back as the risk is too great. Should be proud of yourself too for respecting her decision.

I don't think the death toll is the right way of judging this , it fell last week and then rose again .

It's the number of infections we need to look at and because we haven't the means to test that figure it's difficult to say where we are .

Sister- in -law works in a care home, she suffers from asthma so got to be careful, a few in her care home have been taken to hospital.

Son who works at Northern General hospital has emergency doctor driver said last night they are visiting a lot of care homes, he's just started back last week after self isolating, but had the test and clear of corona virus. My wife worried sick after losing one son, but he tells her he's well kitted up when going to places.
Same with Grand-daughter going to people's homes as a carer.

Care workers are certainly underappreciated compared to nurses, they do a similar job on half the pay and aren't getting the PPE cos it's going to the NHS.

gf, that's rather unfair to compare wages. To be a Nurse or Midwife you have to under take 3 years of training and also take annual exams to get to the next level, before earning a degree.

I'm not saying Care Workers are any less important but, they have a different level of work ethics and responsibilities as opposed to those I've mentioned.

One thing I do agree to about Care workers, is they have as much right to the correction protection as any health worker.
