Talking to my neighbour last night BT, his daughter is in GMC police, she'd told him the corridor between Bolton and Manchester is like the Wild West, they're handing out spot fines for fun, and she went to 4 RTAs yesterday afternoon caused by speeding, using the empty roads as racetracks.

Meanwhile, over here in civilisation all is peace and light, no one can remember what an officer of the law even looks like, Roy Porter from Chatburn will be delivering the pies, steak puddings, sausages and fillet steaks tomorrow, Guy from Wellgate Fisheries will be dropping off some tuna steaks, lemon sole, plaice and half a dozen oysters (all for me, Mrs S can't be doing with them), the Tesco van will be delivering on Saturday and I've just been on the interweb to order a dozen bottles of Italy's finest from the latest Spectator Wine Club offer.

All would be well with me apart from this vague sense of impending doom, as our glorious leaders give me the distinct impression they haven't got a fecking clue how to get us out of this fine mess they've got us into.

My neighbour's mum has just passed away following a massive heart attack. The death certificate states cause of death COVID-19.

He's kicked off at the Registrar's office and wants the proper cause of his mother's death recorded accurately. The response, "Nothing we can do, sorry those are the instructions we have been given".

We are being played like fu-cking fiddles.

Coronavirus has mutated into at least 30 different strains new study finds

    https://www.jpost.com/health-science...y-finds-625333

A new study in China has found that the novel coronavirus has mutated into at least 30 different variations.
The results showed that medical officials have vastly underestimated the overall ability of the virus to mutate, in findings that different strains have affected different parts of the world, leading to potential difficulties in finding an overall cure.

The study could have future implications on the treatment of coronavirus, as several different strains have been found throughout the world. The United States, which has the world's worst death toll at 42,897, and 799,515 overall cases, has been struck by different mutations. New York, which itself had the worst death rate in the US, and the eastern coast show a strain of coronavirus similar to that found in Europe, whereas the western US has shown similarities with strains found in China.

was estimated to be 25 before the study - but still nothing like seasonal flu with around its 50 regular mutations - of varing degrees of strength/weakness.
