Rishi Sunak asks Welsh voters if they are looking forward to "all the football" before being quickly told Wales haven't qualified for the Euros
What we have is the end of the road for the political consensus the country has consistently voted for since 1979 whether that be the Conservatives or New Labour .
Too much power , too much political influence and probably way too much wealth placed in too few hands is the end result .
I've forgotten what the model is called but it goes like this , get 10 people together starting with the lowest paid through to low income , middle income , upper middle income and super rich and if you distributed $100 , $83 would go to the super rich and the $17 remaining would be distributed amongst the rest with the poorest only getting a $1 .
I personally believe that both the Conservatives and Labour know all of this and that they are aware of inequality despite the fact inequality is never added to their economic models .
Of course this is all very well but the scary thing is they haven't a clue what to do about it so instead they play a game of wack a mole , one mole gets wacked only for three or four more to appear and so inevitably nothing really gets done .
You could argue why should the super rich be the ones to solve inequality anyway ? , isn't that the government's job , the last time I checked it wasn't a crime to be super rich , it's not a crime to avoid tax either .
There's no government going to solve this the same as they aren't going to solve climate change either , they really aren't .
Life expectancy is affected by many factors – for example, behavioural risks to health such as smoking and poor diet; access to and use of health care; wider socio-economic determinants such as income, education, housing and employment; geography; and specific characteristics such as ***, ethnicity, disability and social exclusion. Differences in these determinants can lead to inequalities in life expectancy between population sub-groups.
Life expectancy in England is significantly lower for people living in more deprived areas than for people living in less deprived areas.
Socio-economic inequalities in health in England have been widening since 2010
