With BPF going out on loan again (why not sell him?) we need a very decent back-up plan to Muric. I have no idea how Franchi is doing but big things were expected of him at PSG, but the thick end of £20 million looks to be beyond our reach. What now Mr Kompany?

Vinni was signing players last summer like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat. Not going to be so easy in the PL is it.

Like you previously stated, everyone wants a slice of the EPL TV money pie and "No" it's not going to be easy to add to the squad with proven EPL pedigree at ALDI prices.

Unless further investment comes in, we are never going to be able to splash the cash. I agree with that - it is ridiculous the fees commanded for pretty average players. I think that VK and team will be able to unearth talented young players. They may not be PL quality but I don’t mind another season in the Championship like the last one, if it comes to that.

When I saw that our first match is against City, it was back to thinking we will do well to get anything. I never once thought that last season.

City have just about spanked all of Europe's best, the two games against Manchester City will not define our season.

This is our problem Swiss, there hasn't been any investment at all by our owners, never mind further investment.

Just how many of the oil rich Gulf State countries actually want to own an English Premier League football club? The numbers must be diminishing now.

ALK are forced to go a different route and I applaud their efforts so far. Are there no oil wells in Salt Lake City?

I agree BT, but it is not going to be easy against many teams. I am not being pessimistic or saying every match will be like playing City. I will be delighted if we finish 17th.

On quiet reflection S_C I will be amazed if we stay up. The fixtures and quality of opposition is quite frankly brutal.

    Go Vinny go!

Mohamed Elyounoussi on a "free" from Southampton.

    Must be worth a shout?
