yes agents are all that's evil in football just look at the **** who came along with kean
I wouldn't mind betting that idiot Gibson is behind this
just for the record we need the money to rebuild but if the only team that comes back for him is Boro then we keep him simple as that
I really don't believe it is as simple as the player got too greedy.
We'll probably never know the truth, Robin.
I don't have a particular thing about Rhodes being greedy. It's just part-and-problem of a bigger issue, including: super-rich, egotist owners; players who think they should get special treatment because they're good at kicking a ball around; agents and other arse-lickers who then encourage those players to think of themselves

I am disgusted with the tiny quota established by the New Zealand government: 750 a year, with an extra 300 under "family support".
I accept that Britain is already crowded, but what's the solution? Throw them back in the sea, or let them starve in Syria?
Send them to Saudi Arabia, they have a camp already set up there with facilities that will hold three million refugees and its empty.. We don't want any more of them over here [/quote]

You could TRY sending them, but the Saudis certainly wouldn't take them - unless it's easy to turn refugees into oil.

You may well be right Robin, but I myself would need to have first hand knowledge of the proceedings in order to travel down that line.
So, given my personal general opinion of JR, and with it my opinion of agents I cannot help but look more suspiciously at the agent in this matter.
One thing I would add and that is if it is Gibson who has withdrawn I cannot put aside m

Just one further thing I would add Robin, and that is: IF it is Gibson getting cold feet, could it be due to the postings I am reading that are being made by the Midd support in voicing their own wishes and with that their opinion and thus valuation of JR?
From what is suggested it would appear that these are of the same mind as myself.
IF this is the case, it excuses Gibson in no way whatsoever and would make him look foolish in the extreme in making this move and more importantly being influenced by his 'underlings'.
Despite his failings, it is reasonable to suggest that he could propel them to the Prem with his goals, but then? If the wish was to 'pass him on', it would be far more difficult to entice a buyer without forfeiting a very large proportion of the windfall (on one player?).

I think its about time left. We need the money to re-invest. Which I believ we will do. If we get £11m thats very good business. He has been nothing short of excellent for us. But time for him to move on. He needs a change.

We already look faster, and have more options. People will write Watt and Jackson off before kicking a ball. Both could be useful additions. Those same people said Rhodes fee was too high. And its looking like we will make a profit, on a guy who scored 20 goals plus a season. It was a fantastic piece of business, as was making sure we gave him longer contracts, and better money. Not only did he deserve it, it meant we can command the fee now. Boro are desperate, and making an expensive mistake now, as Rhodes will not retain his value, and if they went up, he will be found wanting. Sadly he hasnt the pace for the Prem. But is certainly one of the best Champ strikers, and has been ever since he came to us.

We need to invest this asap. Not on another striker. W

    Welcome back Champs!
Certainly a nice meaty, if not unsavoury, topic to re-energise you.

Are we likely to get the full truthful sp on this ? I very much doubt it.

Let's just hope some common sense, decent debate resolves this and our preferred outcome ensues.

Not too shocked the deal's apparently back on. Hope it gets done and dusted quickly as if he stays were left with two options...
1)He continues to play and be the attacking focal point of the side even though his heart is not in playing for the club and therefore likely to be average as he has been for much of the season so far.
    Or
    2) He stays and sits on the bench till the Summer whilst picking up huge wages.
Best outcome for Rovers is he goes. As long as we get to the Summer without being relegated there's no disaster.
