I wonder how bookies came to be called that Alf?
Blimey Rog...don't build anything on my figures...beyond being able to balance my own finances I'm a self confessed economic inadequate. My understanding is that the foreign aid budget equates to less than 1% of outlay and closer to 0.7% which is where my initial figures came from.
Beyond that all I understand is that 0.7% - 1% is a tiny percentage and not something to be either be proud of or get worked up about.
I'm genuinely astonished to learn that our contribution to the EU is somewhere between 0.5 - 1.5% though and while I accept there are other considerations, it does - in the grand scheme of things - seem like a relatively trifling proportion of our collective outgoings.
To put it into perspective, if I go out with £200 in my pocket, the spending of £1.00 - £3.00 isn't going to be a massive concern, but maybe that's why I'm not an accountant...and don't foresee ever having enough to need one.

Yes Laz I think we should take a big 'online' stick to the pair of these detention seekers.
Lets rip them both a new one and force them to wear each others team shirt.... for 2 days![]()
I'd rather eat my own excrement than wear a florist shirt!!!!!!!!

They look much better than the current Derby ones which is just an invitation to be obese.Originally Posted by AfghanRam
