So Barnsley win a few games and they play us and you think they are great? sheffield FC could have beat us with that performance.
It won't be long before Barnsley get found out and IMO they will be near the bottom if not bottom come end of season. I hope they don't go down but that's my opinion

It does sound a bit like sour grapes Millertop!
For most of the second half Barnsley were much better than us all over the pitch.
Based on that game I would cheerfully take 5 or 6 of their players into our squad but I doubt if they would want many, if any of ours.
I agree there's a long, long way to go yet but they appear to be comfortable with the system the manager is using and all their players worked well within it.
They will definitely meet a lot better teams than the Millers but I think they'll be difficult to beat at home which will give them every chance of staying up.
I wish I was as confident about our lot.

And your opinion (about us finishing bottom) might be right Millertop at the end of the season, we will have to wait and see.
Your comments still come across as ignorant though and it sounds exactly what you do want to happen. Im glad to see that such comments are in the minority on here.

O'h dear - OK Saturday was a painful watch for everyone except Barnsley.

Now let's stand back and separate ourselves from the emotional aspects of the game.

Barnsley are a young SETTLED side that TOGETHER won promotion to the championship and won at Wembley in the cup! ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO!

They are still running on adrenaline playing in the highest league of their young lives.

NOW - Rotherham - in contrast - are a NEW young side playing a NEW system under a NEW manager!

Some of the Rotherham players haven't even unpacked their suitcases let alone picked curtains - and for 50 odd minutes played......OK.

SO - a lucky bounce in the box, ( we caused similar mayhem in their box but the ball did not fall in our favour ), the a deflected goal - then our, less than set in concrete shape, fell apart.

They caught us with a lucky punch and while we were still "punchy" pushed us over....END OF!

WHO's NEXT - WE WILL GET BETTER!

Ok Ibj but this is our THIRD season in the Championship so why the hell are we having to go through yet another rebuilding exercise? What happened to "incremental improvement? "
Surely by now we should have developed a core squad that is more than capable of holding its own in this division but once again we get the same excuses trotted out, ie we are a new young squad who haven't had time to gel yet etc etc.
We should not be in this position and now the manager is panicking to get even more bodies in before the transfer window closes after saying some of those he's just brought in might have to be moved on after Saturday's performance.
Even the chairman walked out in disgust!
You could be right, it might get better, it certainly doesn't want to get much worse.

All good points. Barnsley were solid in defence and MacDonald was awesome.£100k from Torquay I believe. Played with one on each flank and both terrorised our fullbacks. Their midfield won just about every second ball and totally dominated us in the second half. Their strikers were brave, tough and bossed our CBs. They will more than survive in this league. Massive difference - they were comfortable on the ball and we didn't want it.
Good luck Barnsley and more of the same this season for us.

Third season NEW philosophy - young quality players with potential / value to the club within the confines of our budget!
As for any panicking - I just can't see TS or AS panicking - everything has gone just as they told us - patience - then players came in - Ball from Spurs ! WOW! - Izzy from Chelsea! WOW! Young talent has arrived and a new regime is starting to build the future of Rotherham United!

As for TS walking out - we'll - knowing that the Bradshaw business was not quite cricket - gazumping our agreed bid probably caused some friction - so I like to think TS gave them a piece of his mind lol.

We will get better - the system of play / shape will be drilled into the squad -and don't forget the jigsaw bits that will arrive before Wednesday night !

Confident that AS will deliver - patience!

I really hope these jigsaw bits are coming in. There will be no time for plan B of the loan market, if no-one in, when the shutter goes down.
