Aston Villa were a club winning things when I really started taking a interest in football. Them and Ipswich Town were in finals shown on telly which watched urging Villa to the win against the mighty Bayern Munich.
Blood and guts with players on their knees after the games. It really was roy of the Rovers stuff. The kind of match that I'm sure brought Villa a lot of respect thoughout Europe and beyond.

This was all happening in the season of 1981/82. It was a great time for them but by gosh it was a greta time to be a Miller as well. We had reached the promissed land the season before with the team we all hope could turn out today but look at the results of that season. Today in the same season we were beating Oldham in the last game of the February never to be forgotten.

These are the time we all dream of but regardless of what is happening on the pitch today these times made us Millers! The times after like today made us real fans! The hurt, the mocking by other supporters and the dread of another defeat makes the season of success even more great!

We are Millers and like it or not there is nothing we can do to change the results.

However this is a day when we hopefully can look back on and say we gave Aston Villa a game and came out of it with three points with our players giving everything and finishing the game on their knees! So come on lads! Do yourselves proud and play to your best and get a result for the fans!
