I had a feeling that 1-0 was never going to be the end of the story. I also remained confident that Notts would restore their lead. Thank you ref for playing so much extra time. We sounded squelchy lucky but fortune favours the brave. Once again Nolan shuffles his pack well.

Text reads 'header from outside the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Lewis Alessandra.'

    Outside the box?

Sets up our next League game nicely.... a gap between us n Luton and the rest of the chasing pack.

Great result that. Only 9 points from safety which could be achieved with only half the season gone.

Great result. We deserved the win in the end. But we really need another forward in January if we're to keep this form up.

    The first half lacked pace.
We were lethargic with our passing.
    Slow and predictable
Colchester are a solid outfit that do all the basics good.
You can see why they are hard to beat of late.
However half time came and Nolan had a chance to get at them, and with the score at 0-0 a platform to build from.
    Second half was much better
Quicker and more decisive in our play merited the 3points.
    More guts and determination.
A special mention has to go to the referee
He can only be described best as "poo"
    Another win
    Another 3 points

We were a bit poor at times, but got the result out, which is what matters. Was worth freezing my socks off for in the end. My toes are still not properly defrosted... I'm starting to think we could really go somewhere with this squad now, especially with a couple of extras to strengthen the defence and maybe attack. I think defending needs looking at most though, from today, their goal was a really soft one, and could've done with some quicker clearances at times, and getting more tackles in. We got the result though, and there was a lot of fight in the team, so onwards, and hopefully upwards, we go.

You need some practise at passing quickly and accurately, Mr. Hawkridge.

.... Dear Duffy Lovers ... I am very pleased to report that Mr D played one of his better games today. He was spot on in all aspects of the game. Can only think his booking was due to verbals at the ref so KN subbed him at 75 mins - fair enough. Surprisingly for me, apart from their big CF, Mr D had little serious pressure with which to contend. My score for him would be 6.9/10
