Goncalves was sold for £850,000 having been bought for under a quarter of that hardly a failure.

I’d suggest actually scouting players rather than just picking names out of the air.

Do you think Derek actually scouted Ricky foster before he signed him ?

No way was he sold for £850k
I give you he made a profit of around £100k, but that is their one needle in the haystack.
He was hardly scouted as well, with Austin McPhee having worked with him at St Mirren and Ian Cathro at Rio Ave

They're full of players like Malauray Martin who was signed on a 3 1/2 year deal and they can't get rid of him and Conor Sammon they've repeateded loaned out because of his long contract and high wages.

What about the Lennard Sowah's or the Oshiniwa's or the Struna's who were signed and found to be guff so hardly played

What has Ricky Foster got to do with it?McInnes never signed him for us.

Plus you never mentioned St Johnstone being the lowest scorers in the league under him, that’s another pointless stick to hit him with.

The remark was made that we are above signing players from Cardiff, which is why I asked why.

Its a different argument to discuss the value and choices that are brought in.

Some players thrive in different leagues, others don't. so there will always be an element of a gamble.
Even at the top range players play differently at different clubs.
Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah were deemed not good enough at Chelsea, but look at them this year with Man City and Liverpool.

We are always going to be taking risks when players join whether the settle / adapt / fit in etc.
Cardiff? is not the point. F@cking Carlisle are

I have mentioned them being the lowest scorers in league before 23 I think some going for 38 games no doubt someone else’s fault never dereks.

The point is mcinnes obvisoly doesn’t know a player if he paid money for that. So no wonder we get donkeys from league 2

The internet says 850,000 but I’ll go with your knowledge on it. Perhaps you can do us a list of mcinnes signings during his time here and we can in depth discussion of everyone to see

Sorry but that's Hearts...we aren't hearts. We aren't just being promoted again after financial collapse and having to change managers twice. Hearts can't do it so we can't? You absolutely love hearts, forever referencing them. You sound like angry Oscar.

It's just a reference to the meme that European players are the solution.
    This is not a guarantee.

I'm sorry if you don't like actual examples which discount your theory

Where on the internet does it state that.
I recall reading in the papers it was circa £300k.

Let me do a google search

Here we are, the Scotsman reported it as £300k
