Thank you to Spike and Scooby. There needs to be full recognition of the tireless work that goes on, - largely unseen by the BOD.

Like all of us they are human beings taking massive risks for the club, and with absolutely no thanks at the end of the day.

Francis could do to fully understand the stress upon the BOD and fully balance the pros and cons of his argument before charging in like a bull and claiming that 'they' need to put more money into the club!

As Spike and Scooby have explained, - they do not have bottomless pockets, - and perhaps instead of pointing the finger at others, - Francis should be spending his time working out potential solutions to the financial crisis, and how he and others may be able to raise funds for the club?

This is not 'a get at Francis' post, - but rather an attempt to redress the balance somewhat and place the onus upon those who are so frustrated with the way the club 'appears' to be going and ask them to come up with money making policies, - or ways of attracting extra fans to Palmerston.

If it wasn’t for the Chairman we wouldn’t have the brilliant Queens Arens fatality and the work in around the ground done for as cheap as possible. I can’t understand how some supporters still don’t understand that fact.

guys im not trying to get at the board or anything im just stateing what yous are all admiting ,the facts are we have made a loss ,and we have a reduced budget ,we also have a threadbare squad ,and yes i do understand that our current board are doing the very best thay can and i admire them for that ,but my point is being ignored ,all im saying is queens cant operate under these restraints ,and i agree with jardi that coming up with ways to generate funds for the club is the way to go ,there is no way us cashless fans can add the funds needed unless a fans consortium gets created and to have the top man of that comsortium on the board ,its the way most clubs are starting to go and its been working defo worked bigtime for hibs ,its pumped millions into the club ,and to address the other points you lot have raised the charman and the board ,yes thay jumped in and saved the club a good few years ago and yes thay have built the arena and upgraded the kgv to produce income for the club and we thank them for this ,but where are we right now and the future ,because thay have done all this for the club do you lot think its accepted that we just bound along making a loss with thread bare squads for evermore and just survive ,that aint near good enough excuse for me likes .and im not one for letting things go too many fans come and post there thoughts on these forums and stop posting when you lot try to put there points down well wont happen here lads lol .

queens do have the potential here in dumfries to be a big club ,we have seen the level thats needed during dave raes stewardship of the club ,and thats the starting level we need to get back too to then move us up to the next level so that should give yous a picture on the level of investment needed to attract the fans back ,we averaged around the 3000 mark under rae with a good squad ,but dave never had the finances to keep it going and to push on ,but that for me is the benchmark where queens need to be and we know the finances needed to have us there .

We nearly went bust thanks to Davie Rae paying ridiculous wages for average players. Have you forgotten about the SAVE OUR SOUTH campaign?
If it wasn’t for Billy Hewitson buying that bit of land off of Queens which in turn paid our bills,I doubt we’d still be here.

Francis, your original post at 12.27 pm was well constructed and you raised some very valid points, - some of which may well need developed.

Within six minutes however you appear to have had some sort of episode, as if you'd re-read your post and thought F*** it, - I'm going to be a petulant so and so.

Please have a read of both your posts and think to yourself, which one might help Queen of the South? I'm sure you'll agree that the 2nd one will get the club absolutely nowhere, and nor will it benefit you.

Instead of throwing your toys out of the pram and stating and I quote: "we defo need some more financial clout at the club one way or another" - take some serious time to consider how that might be achieved.

By a serious amount of time, - I'm talking in terms of 6 months or so, - to knock some ideas around in your head (and on paper) and for you to rationalise a way forward, - which the BOD might, - and I stress might be able to put into action.

jardi im making valid points here im only stating the facts that currently the people in charge of queens dont look to have the finances to push the club on without more fans attending ,where i started getting annoyed is when the keyboard warriors started coming out trying to shoot down my views instead of adding to them constructively to come up with solutions .i do believe our board might and i say might cause i dont know there full intentions for the future ,have came to a point where thay cant take us forward ,its only fact im pointing out its what its looking like to me ,and im trying to get the rest of yous to come up with solutions ideas to add to it ,id like te current board to stay at queens but maybe put it about to look for a couple of new investors to add to there stewardship .

I am sure that the club were grateful for the help at the time which included my contribution through the purchase of shares at the time but I cannot recall any public statement at the time thanking the fans. Of course the smoking of all those Jamaican woodbines at the time may have fogged my memory of that particular episode. 😜
