Like most towns/cities Rotherham and the surrounding area has just as much to be proud of as it does to be ashamed of. Only recently we had the Blue Plaque thread on here:-

Seattle where I work has some fantastic scenery as you approach, snow capped mountains in all directions, spectacular lakes and coastline, panoramic skyline featuring the Space Needle and other architectural masterpieces.....and then I get off the bus and look down. Streets littered with homeless meth addicts, human excrement, pools of piss, discarded drug paraphernalia, it's worse than a Junior School sports day obstacle course trying to get to work some days.

CA, sounds to me as though you're quite homesick lately fella. There are some wonderful places in the US which are nowt like that, just as there are some wonderful places in the UK which are nowt like S6.

Lots of people complaining about all the homeless in California especially in LA which is full of crackheads living in tents.

Looks like Seattle going the same way, probably Portland as well.

Basically the fault of Democrats/ Socialists.

Lots of them are moving to Texas now they've bankrupted CA and ruining Texas as well.

The roundabout at The Stag when some young offenders planted bulbs which spelled F==K Off when they bloomed a couple of months later. Brilliant!

Just as I said at the start of my post Sota.

Climate plays a role in attractiveness for homeless. Don't see many in Minnesota or Arizona. Not too convinced by the democratic/socialist argument. Bellevue, a city the same size as Seattle and only a mile away from it doesn't have the same problems
of homelessness but does have the same blend of politics.

If you care to take a few walks around the borough of Rotherham you will find many stunning views, it's a great place and unsung to be honest...I can take a walk with the dogs locally and from the top of the now reclaimed and 'naturised' Silverwood pit tip and look across town to Wentworth Woodhouse in the distance, a modern outlook in the foreground of the steelos at Aldwarke, Parkgate retail world.
