Trying to rationalise how I feel now. Greatest need is to get back to top league. Greatest concern is that we might not.
Realistic expectation is that we will give it a good go alongside a good handful of other clubs trying to do the same.
Is it achievable? Of course. The outcome will be decided over the 36 league games. Let's back the team all the way through this campaign. The early season friendlies and the ridiculous Betfred group games mean nothing.

    Good post Skol

We really need our support to unite and back the club this season, not be on the backs from the off but right behind them with encouragement and getting on the oppositions case at every turn

We have a great support, 400+ down in Shrewsbury leaving nothing but a good impression and showing the type of backing we give at away games, we are capable at home games as the ICT play off shows

Let's meet what come season head on, we are the big fish that others want to beat, let's not make it less difficult for them by being divided or giving them a help with negavity and groans from the stands, let's do the opposite and make it feel like a difficult and uncomfortable time coming to our ground, if we get off to a decent start then momentum and positivity can carry us a long way

    Just remember 1996/97 under Tommy.

First half - industrious and played some good football. Cammy Smith worked hard and some good link play with Appere and others. Easily a starter for me, rather than Clark in that role. Butcher and Frans did fine.

2nd Half - After subs reverted to what has been documented on here so frequently, players out of position. Hence performance dipped, Shrews didn't have to work too hard. Shankland having to come too deep, Clark is clearly a penalty box player. Both missed a couple of sitters within a minute of each other. Stanton whom I like and has ability but not shown enough, is too far back.

King overall a workman like performance but nothing remarkable.

Best player on the park, who knew where to be at the right time, Steve Morrison for them, showed what 2 up front could do. Won most things that came his way.

All in all not the best result, game of two halves. United support excellent and greeted the team at the end like heroes, had it been a league game, it would have been boos etc.
The same Steve Morison scored against us 5 seasons ago in a friendly away to Leeds.

    Some away day that was
