These players will be banned from driving and have to face other criminal charges where as i you've got the cash you even keep your licence. The system stinks.
What they did was very wrong and I still say everyone makes mistakes and like I said I hope they learn from them, the sad thing is not everyone does.
Of course, I wasn't being belligerent.
I understand the law but for me, I think drink drivers get off too light. The worrying thing is, as stated these clowns are public role models. Youngsters look up to them. Yet with all their money and contacts, they will get off light compared to Joe Bloggs.
The law and public opinion lets stuff like this become another hic cup in the day to day events.
    It isn't.

You can get more press and outrage by calling someone a collaborator, or by being photographed in "black face" for a party.
Sensationalism is obviously a bigger crime, in the world of Twitter and Facebook. This requires a major inquiry.
    Arseholes.

They did wrong and they should be punished just like every other driver is punished, D&D happens in the thousands probably everyday throughout the country, not saying it's right I'm just saying these two are human just like everybody else and they made a massive mistake, it seems just because they are footballers or because it's Derby who are in the news already regarding the ground sale everyone seems to be making a big deal of it.

Police chiefs, judges have all been caught D&D but have got less air time than these two!

Also people blaming Huddlestone for taking a video and letting it happen, I'm sorry but he was one that left the group at 8pm, he had no idea at that time that those two would drive their cars so taking a video of Bennett being sick was taken as a laugh between mates, we've probably all done it when out on a Sunday session with the boys, 'look at him he's p****d quick take a video'

People blaming Keogh for being the elder and letting them drive and even getting in the car himself, Keogh doesn't drive so he was probably out of his face as well and possibly in no fit state to have any control over anybody.

It's just 3 guys with 2 that were driving when they shouldn't have, ban them both for 12 months and fine them whatever the fine is for D&D, the club will also have a disaplinary procedure to follow and have disrepute clauses in the contracts too I would have thought, beyond that they are just normal guys like us and they should be dealt with as such and no different just because they are football players or because it's Derby
And had it been Leeds or Forest players you would not have jumped on the bandwagon..I think we both know the answer to that!

Sorry but that is piss poor stenson and your making excuses for your players disgusting and disgraceful behavior..they are all adults with very high profile jobs with lots of young kids looking up to them as role models so don't give me any of this sugar coating bullsh1t..the last paragraph of your post is cringeworthy. All are loaded and could have just got a taxi home.

I know someone who lost his 8yr old boy to a drunk driver and I also lost a friend many years ago the same way..get behind the wheel while drunk and you deserve a very long stint in jail.

And just for the record had these been Leeds players I would feel the same and would not want any of them to wear the shirt ever again.

Where has Stenson ‘made excuses’? Answer...he hasn’t.
All he’s said is they aren’t the first and they won’t be the last.

No one is saying they shouldn’t be punished and everyone associated with DCFC probably feels thoroughly let down and ashamed right now but Stenson’s last sentence is true. The fact that they’re footballers/local celebrities will and should make no difference to their punishment.
Those guilty of drink driving don’t necessarily go to prison except in the most serious of circumstances. You certainly don’t know those circumstances at the moment and the alleged ‘crime’ committed by each individual may be very different so I should step back a little and wait a while if I were you...until you know a few facts.

Tricky...do you have to try and politicise everything? This has got sod all to do with your feelings about political correctness.

I'm not so sure about that rA, I understand they miscreants are all remainers and so were celebrating the defeat of Overgruppenfuhrer Johnson in the proroguing debacle that evening. So remainers are responsible for the entire scandal.

I just wrote and submitted a long reply to Rev but for some reason it didn't stick. RamAnag has basically repeated what I wrote though

The club needs to either sack them or use it to create a siege mentality, because if all they do is fine them and that's it its going to cause all kinds of cr*p in that dressing room

Tomorrow they need to come out to Mick Foley's theme song from WWF https://youtu.be/M9FSKgPDGSE if they wanna defend them that's fine, but at least play to it and try to get under the skin of the opposition and media.

I'm genuinely struggling to understand why that piece of music is relevant to a group of irresponsible idiots, but hey, theres not much in your head that I can understand, so whats new

    Codswallop. My point is valid.

Why is a crime such as this treated so leniently, even when someone dies from it? It is a conscious decision to drink drive.

Political correctness misdeamers and a buffoon of a PM upsetting a few snow flakes, call for everything from the sack to the death penalty.
Society has placed crimes like this on the slap on the wrist shelf. Yet upset someone with words and there's hell to pay.
    Your reaction confirmed it.

Bit of a drinking culture at the club it seems, which isn't always a bad thing, but drink driving? I hope they get years inside.
First agree with you completely about drink driving Fail to see what your getting at about bouncing with fans Would be surprised if there are any football clubs without a drinking culture If it gets you to a play-off final fans won't be complaining Your right I also hope they get a sentence (but afraid there is no chance of that happening )
