Let me explain, whilst the PM can chair a Cobra meeting it's not the norm, they're normally chaired by the relevant Cabinet Minister. There were Cobra meetings on 24th and 29th January and 5th, 12th and 18th February, all chaired by Health Secretary Matt Hancock. All perfectly normal procedure, all meetings where the PM was not scheduled to be there.

It's quite perverse to criticise Boris for not attending meetings he wasn't meant to be attending, but that's Lefties for you, never let the truth stand in the way of a good Tory bashing FAKE NEWS story.

For what it's worth Gordon Brown attended every COBRA meeting during the "Mad Cow" crisis. Anyway forget this bollox, let's discuss how the fu-cking Remainers now want to stop Brexit because of the COVID-19 outbreak?

That's why Boris ain't attending any COBRA meetings, he's focussed on us getting out of the dreadful EU bang on time.

He would go up an awful lot in my opinion if he just told the truth and said so!

Of course he did, the one-eyed Scottish lunatic was a control freak, Boris lets the ministers chair the relevant meetings, why on earth would he not, as you say he could be spending his time with Dom, plotting to get us out of the EU on time. And besides, at the time of the meetings referred to, January and February, there was no crisis, PHE and the NHS were saying everything was under control, nothing to worry about.

It is promising though, there were some media stories (well there would be, wouldn't there) saying pressure was mounting to extend the transition period, Mr Frost lost no time in saying that we would NOT be asking for an extension, some stories then appeared (of course they did) saying that while we might not request an extension, the EU could always request one, and we would be more or less obliged to grant their request. Mr Frost lost no time in saying that we would NOT be requesting an extension, and if the EU requested one we would say NO.

I'm warming to this Mr Frost, he's either naturally sound as a pound on leaving the EU, or doing exactly what Boris and Dom are telling him, or both.
