Latest from TheBootroom today is that we have made an offer to sign him... though whether that's a new offer or the one previously mentioned on here I don't know.

We're a better team this time round! The players are playing and we can't be called a battling team anymore. Well not on the preformances so far.

I'm enjoying this season so far! We're competing at the same level and playing some nice stuff!

Agreed Frog but never, ever, forget the number 1 rule of Championship football:

Rule 1. RUFC never gain points due to their deserving. It is always, absolutely always, because the opposition under performed. Like always!! 😉

Maybe a tad harsh but I’m going on the last performance I saw Huddersfield which they’ve improved quite a lot on last season imo

Obviously I want us to win but it’s about getting the tactics spot on in this game or it could be embarrassing

I’ve still got faith though 😂

On reflection from my post yesterday, i cannot understand what Warne saw in playing Crooks like he did. He wanted replacing at half time, his heart/head wasn't in it. Looked lethargic and wasn't involved as good as we know he can play.

Sitting behind a lone striker doesn't suit him either, he plays better from the middle and bombing on. He also kept drifting out to the left a lot???? This isn't a blast at Crooks merely an observation as I know he can play far better than he did yesterday.

Agree he definitely should have been subbed
Imo he can play that role especially with Smith in front of him but yesterday was a no no

Shaun Mcdonald has really impressed me so far.

I'll be honest, I didn't rate him first time around and last season he was very much in Dan's shadow for large parts of the season.

He looks so composed and capable now that I have to wonder why he was unable to provide this level of performance before?

Didnt he have a serious illness?

Crooks is off his game at the minute, that's obvious. I dont think his head is at it presently. If were going to play 1 up top, then I'd look to play sadlier in the hole.

He certainly wasn't fit last season but so far this he is man of the season: gets stuck in and is allover the pitch helping out. It's like having a new player.

When hes not there Lyndsey would be his obvious replacement but wouldnt play em together apart from when you are trying to shut up shop.Like I said elsewhere Lyndsey should have come on yesterday after we scored and told to chase the ball round the pitch for the last few minutes not allowing them to go for it.

I wonder if Crooks head has turned with the rumoured interest him in the summer. If he dunt want to play dont play him. We have a few players who can play in the number 10 role. When crooks is good he is unplayable eg against Oxford away last season but when he disappears from the game it is poor from a player with so much physical presence. We should notice his physical presence in a game if nowt else. He might pick up a bit when the transfer window closes.Thas gotta get thi head reight crooksy lad...be a warney boy!
