Its probably a blessing first thing id look for is a ball winner in the middle of the park with some energy.

This is now even more essential, especially if we keep starting our moves in our own penalty area. You need a very mobile midfield who can get up and down the pitch if you want to play that way effectively. Given that we currently have nobody who fits that description in the centre of the park, some pace and power there is top of the list for me if we’re going to have any chance of having a successful season.

Well done to Casper Sloth for not taking a wage under false pretenses, as so many others have done in the past.

The signs were there when he disappeared from the line-up in the late pre-season friendlies with a "tight hamstring". It all sounded very reminiscent of his disappearance virtually without playing at Motherwell. I thought about posting to that effect actually, but then thought it would be a bit hypocritical and unfair at the same time as asking people to give Elisha Sam a proper chance.

I can see why the club took a punt despite the obvious question marks. It's not everyday a non-league club can pick up a player in his late 20s with 8 international caps for a decent European country, but you have to assume there is something irretrievably wrong either with his mentality or physical health. I'm sure his playing stats were good, but he only seems to be able to function in his own country.

As others have said, it's better that he/we have cut our losses now, and hopefully this will free up some cash to get a more like-for-like replacement for Kristian Dennis. We should have enough cover in midfield, but our firepower looks diminished compared with last season.

I take the view why would he want to stick around when he cant even get on the bench for a non league club??
He didnt come here for that and i too would ask to leave. The rubbish about not settling in the area is a smoke screen imo. He probably wont be the last.......

Who knows, maybe he wants to go home to Denmark? Bottom line is he got injured in pre-season, which is the last thing he needed given his absence from the game for an entire season.

Unless I’m missing someone, we now have Doyle, JOB and Reeves as our midfield choices in a season with a constant “3 games a week” routine (only way I see us playing Rodrigues is in a 4-2-3-1). For me, that’s got to be our priority over a forward at this point in time

A player signed way below his potential level, but one who hasn't pulled up any trees for some time was always going to be a big risk but I can understand why Ardley took a punt on him. The good news is that it hasn't worked out and has been sorted out quickly. The last thing we can afford at the moment is passengers. Let's hope that a couple of decent loan signings come in to beef up the midfield and forward line. I doubt he was ever injured and it was a convenient excuse for the negotiations to get rid of him. On to Altrincham!

Interesting comments from Ardley on the radio just now. Basically Sloth just threw his toys out of the pram at not being in the team for Dover.

The exit door is the best place for an unproven (and allegedly injured) player with that attitude then. Good riddance.

It was a gamble that didn't pay off, if he'd managed to not be a tw*t he wouldv'e probably been a class above at this level but it seems he's destined to be a "what if" player. Suprisingly honest comments from Ardley, normally managers would just dodge the question or give a generic answer

I've not been happy for a long time now with Enzio getting in the team ahead of me, but I'm hanging in there.
