You’d think that but apparently Californians are now moving out of state to places like Arizona and Texas which are old republican strongholds and that’s why the votes are closer there this year. The main reason cited is the cost of living in CA so they decide to turn the new place into the old place by voting the same way makes no sense at all.
CA already has the highest state tax of anywhere in USA. In CA there short of money there simple answer is tax raise or new tax like the tax raise they tried to generate for a rail line that no one uses.
