I think anyone should be able to travel and exercise common sense, I see so many people who have stayed at home who are not social distancing and mixing in large groups.

Scums geographical location is irrelevant, it’s his actions that are relevant which were clearly responsible

I absolutely love Whitby whatever time of the year it is.
It's something worth considering for any future Xmas times.
Always enjoyed the town and the sea fishing trips we used to go on.

I’ve only been sea fishing once, in Cornwall. Our boat broke down and we were caught in a swell until another boat came and towed us back.

    Never again.

    Ha ha....
Some of our lads used to be sick going out of the Harbour at Whitby, never had a problem myself.
Full English breakfast in one of the cafes and then knowing we would be having fresh grilled Mackerel for breakfast the next morning... Love it.

Relatives usually go for the Goth weekend.

Up to you mate. I think they are rules. People are being convicted for traveling outide of their Tier.

But, my point. The quoted piece you posted added more to the procecution than your defence.

Dont agree. If we all do what Scum did we would have unacceptably large crowds in Whitby. Some have the abilty to show restraint.

You don't know how lucky you are up there. There we were pootling along in Tier 2 when WHAM - "Go straight to Tier 4, do not pass the front door, do not collect grandchildren!" The infection rate in our little bit of coast is amongst the lowest in the country but it makes no difference because the restrictions are county-wide. Incidentally I love Whitby. It was once Goth Weekend when we were there. That was an experience, almost impossible to get in a chip shop because of the crowds and the guys with metal spikes in their head didn't look too friendly or averse to telling you where to go if you suggested they were pushing in. Actually most of them were very friendly and polite butI see the place has now declared a "state of emergency" following a steep rise in infection rates, so I should stay away for the time being.

I’m not sure about the state of emergency mate. Most places were all back open this morning.
The car parks were filling up as we left. Maybe everyone had read this.

    😀😀
