That's the first hint you've given about the purpose of the 'mission'.

I now know one of the aims is to stifle free speech.

Not at all I am all for free speech, as long as that speech doesn't clearly overstep the mark as we've sadly repeatedly seen recently from two now currently banned persons. I'm pro free speech always have been always will be.

Free speech is allowed on all social media platforms highlighted which is great, and I believe there are block features on all of them but clearly it doesn't stop people posting disgusting abusive comments which shouldn't be tolerated. Hence the boycott, race in particular seems to be used as the easy target and weapon of choice by these idiots.

This option to block/ignore really should be adopted by both for their own sake as much as NCMs.

[By the way, what do we all think about the idea of a special dedicated thread in the same vein as the luggage room specifically for debating the pros and cons of laddo's mission?

If a poster you haven't blocked, quotes a poster that you have blocked. I wonder if you can see the quoted text?

I would expect so as it is just copied as text in the reply.

Also - as per others - I will not use the block because mostly everyone, even Laddo (joke), have a lot of interesting and thoughtful things to say that are worth reading. It's good to know the option is there though for when we get someone who only posts bigoted rubbish and has nothing good to say (my "neighbour" PSAW may be first on my list if I do resort to using it).

Both Laddo and Elite do occasionally post interesting views so it would be a shame to block them. It is obviously their endless bickering that is the problem. Perhaps they just need to block each other.

It's what I've suggested a few times before for the greater good of the board and all that use it. It's impossible to ignore how many people the petty arguments between us two annoy others.

Back then it was just a voluntary 'ignore each other proposal' but now the block option is known and available we should both jump and the chance. Alas I don't believe he's keen.

Excellent idea. Any discussion about it could remain on just the one thread, and those who didn't want to read it wouldn't have to.

A much better solution to the problem than this silly (in my opinion) blocking option.

It really doesn't need it's own thread. Although it will be interesting to observe which posters other than Elite are desperate to know more about the #mission that he is strangely so anti.

I know the football has been pretty lacklustre this season but surely there are better things to distract yourself with that this lol.
