What about the trip by De Bruyne on Jorginho in the Belgium area? Does VAR not apply to De Bruyne?

Anyway, I thought the Italians made hard work of beating a poor Belgium side. Again, you have all that attacking talent and Martinez chooses to make them play like Wigan. Sitting back and trying to hit teams on the break is never going to win you a tournament at this level.

As for Spain, what a shame Switzerland missed the opportunity to rid the tournament of their boring snoozeball. Watching Spain is painful, it's as frustrating as the old ladies who make an effort to step in front of you in Marks & Spencer and then slow right down to an absolute crawl.

Hey Pigly, I still think Spain deserved the result in the end because they were still better than Schweisse!.
Spain are doing the German type 'transitional' thing at the moment arent they, they have had their better days and are now rebuilding again. I cant blame them for that, but yes I am surprised to see them get to the Semis.

    But it's the Euros Griff.

You need to learn to embrace foreign opposition.

Adam Murray moved to Brunton Park in March 2005 after Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson succeeded in his fourth attempt to sign him.

He played ten games in what remained of the 2004–05 season, helping the Cumbrians to qualify for the Conference play-offs in third-place.

He was an unused substitute in the play-off final as Carlisle returned to the Football League with a 1–0 victory over Stevenage Borough at the Britannia Stadium.

Murray scored three goals in 42 appearances during the 2005–06 season, including the equalizing goal in the 2006 Football League Trophy Final against Swansea City at the Millennium Stadium. Carlisle won promotion as champions of League Two.

On 10 August 2006, Murray handed in a transfer request to new manager Neil McDonald, after he failed to appear in Carlisle's opening two games of the 2006–07 League One season.

Karl Hawley was the best man at his wedding.

Well Howey, we sold Val Ismael to them last week and Alex Mowatt will possibly join them as well.

But this is a Euros thread innit lol, so lets have no more club footy nonsense until this tournament finishes ehh.

That's one of my bugbears to be fair.

People use the term "deserve" so often in football, but for me it has no meaning.

I don't believe you can ever win a game of football (or qualify from a knock-out tie) if you don't "deserve" it.

In football you always get precisely what you deserve - win lose or draw.

Ultimately, Spain deserved to win as they didn't f_ck their penalites up, while Switzerland did. End of story, but I don't have to like it.

I liked Adam Murray as a player for us, he was influential in a forward thinking way, always showing for the ball and more often than not using it intelligently.
