That's because we had them for what was called a summer sledge in Rawmarsh. Had many hours of fun on those down brown grassy slopes.

CAM I recall using the old cardboard like you said. What about large biscuit tin lids for blasting down an icy/ snowy slope…… back then our small arses could fit on a lid whereas nowadays I’d need one for each arse cheek 🤣
