That said, why was an official 'no longer available' to conduct the pitch inspection at 11am as previously promised? Just get your a*rse there and do it!

It's been commented above that the referees are 'part-time', but I think that's being generous. It sounds like they're a bunch a bungling amateurs to me. No doubt Dover athletic aren't being very co-operative, but when you add the incompetence of National League officialdom to the mix the situation just becomes farcical.
I suggest Swale ask all the parties involved to continue their bickering on the Handbags thread.

Have to say though looking at the forecast from last night that it was always going to be a tough call and it would be interesting to know if the pitch was playable at 7.45 this evening.

Tonight's match between Dover FC and Ross County has been postponed.

Games get postponed, a lot more at this level. It happens.

All you can ask is clear communication for both clubs and supporters.

It really shouldn’t be difficult to get a local official to do an inspection at an appropriate time. With a weather forecast in hand.

It could still get postponed, but at least everyone has done what they can.

The dover chairman probably needs to have a word with himself, why on earth would we want to get the game postponed? We are on form, have no fitness concerns, and already have a fixture backlog with the cup run…..

As well as needing the win to keep us in touch. Results went the way I would have expected last night and psychologically it puts more pressure on us to go on a run.
Stockport are relentless at the minute and we can ill afford continued postponements, especially as we seem to be getting back in form as a team as well as individually.

Whilst the saga that is Notts County's away fixture at Dover is pretty mind blowing, equally to me is that some people feel the need to bring the Prime Minister into the discussion.

Cue a photograph emerging of him holding a plastic carton of what look likes beer in the open air whilst said to watching one of Dover's games at the Crabble when it was behind closed doors and even our very own Mark Stallard wasn't allowed to attend.

What we need is a designated thread which concerns the Prime Minister and analysis of the government's leadership and handling of the pandameic.
