Fair point! But how much saving would that produce and would it be worth it?

I also note that that comment about not affording £50,000 for a player is doing the rounds again. Is this an example of deliberately misunderstanding something cos then it fits your argument or is it just the case that some people want to react negatively and can't be arsed to check the facts. The original comment was said in connection with an untried youth player and the idea was about whether clubs like Crewe could risk that money on an unknown.
This is the type of stuff that bugs me about some of these 'keyboard warriors'. Only recently there was a lot of trolling about Artell mentioning the word Brexit. The reference was a factual one about the change of regulations brought about by Brexit, limiting availability of young English players now there were restrictions on European players.
Brains in their fingertips! Too much bashing of keyboards!

    Hmmmm!

How many wins in that in the last 20? Well we have a Cat2 Academy and all is fine...

It seems as though when anyone disagree with you, you have to insult them...Have you checked how many fans actually post here? four or five if you are lucky and yet 3-4000 fans and hundreds viewing comments and yet not inclined to post? You should be lucky the ones that post take the time...

Anyway, I heard McGarry say before todays match that the club have advertised for 2 jobs, head of recruitmen and a data and logistics manager....And you wonder why we are the **** as a football team? £100K right there probably..

I forgot my most important comment....You said the comments from the club were that we cannot 'risk' £50k on an untried youth player.?

Yet we spend £760,000 pounds on untried kids PER SEASON!

I could add that Dean Ashton was untried as a youth player before we signed him and wonder how he turned out?

Dean Ashton was an Academy product who went to school in Cheshire, signing scholarship forms at 16 on the basis of what they'd already seen, with us and briefly Stoke's youth set up - don't think that's the sort of signing with a fee they were talking about.
