I see F1 have come out today and terminated the contract with Russia so there will now no longer be a race in St Petersburg where it was due to move to in 2023 after the race in Sochi scheduled for September this year had already been cancelled

These are the genuine refugees I want to see helped. Not the charlatans of young men, paying thousands to cross the EU and the channel.

Is it because they’re white Tricky...or because they’re largely women and children...that makes you suddenly so approving? As I remember it you were pretty dismissive of the Poles, pre Brexit, but now they’re so accepting of their refugee neighbours it’s a different story.

Just look at your comments on this thread and, at a time when we should all be united, who can’t resist having a go at other nationalities whether it be, coincidentally black, ‘refugees’...the cowardly French, the arrogant and aggressive Germans, the lazy Belgians, the excitable and defeated Spanish or the ineffective posturing Italians.

As regards the second paragraph of your post rA I can see where you are coming from, but you have to accept that the Poles will likely have a much greater allegiance towards their Ukrainian neighbours than they would towards middle eastern migrants. Globally, there are vast numbers of people who do not share your perspective on "fairness to all" but affiliate with people they feel are more like themselves, socio-economically, culturally or on language or religious grounds, not to mention skin tone. That's just a fact of real life, and not one of idealistic life. Same would probably be true of other countries such as Hungary who have shown hostility towards Middle Eastern migrants, although I'm not yet sure how welcoming they will be towards Ukrainians.

As regards the third paragraph, can you remember exactly when it was that you had the sense of humour bypass operation carried out? Was it at a young age or has it been performed more recently?

I possibly don’t share yours and Tricky’s and I recognise that there are those on here who, having said something facile, will then scuttle off suggesting, ‘oh I was only joking’...but perhaps, in this case, they would do well to remember that, despite all the anti European jingoistic bollux of the last few years, the Eastern Europeans and those from elsewhere on our continent who Tricky seeks to ridicule are actually our allies.
