I have to say that Michael Duff would be a seriously good appointment if you can get him, he’s done a cracking job with Cheltenham but I can’t see them getting much higher so now might be a good time for him to move on. I always prefer having managers on the way up with ambition and something to prove and Tykes would be good platform for him to do that. Whoever comes in though seems to have a job on their hands with probable turnover of players, so that maybe should limit expectations. There are some big clubs in L1 next year and they’ll all have expectations of promotion so it won’t be easy. I think like Derby, you may have to consolidate for a year if you don’t have a settled side but would you see that as acceptable or are you looking for an immediate return the the Championship? Either way, as a “home” game for me with Wanderers next year I’m looking forward to another visit to Oakwell. Good luck whoever you appoint.
