Our team, Alvechurch FC had the honour of being the venue for the draw of the first round proper on Monday night and had to wait until the 3rd from last ball before knowing their fate of a trip to Cheltenham Town. A tough one for them but for once I have a feeling in my water that they might actually break the hoodoo.

Games will be played the weekend of Guy Fawkes night when the Radio Sheffield minnows of Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Doncaster and Chesterfield will be trying to get to the promised land of the 3rd round when the big boys like RUFC join the competition

A gentle reminder as round 3 starts in just under an hour and our lads from Alvechurch carry the dual moniker of 'lowest team left in the FA Cup' and 'poor *******s who are carrying the MM curse' as they head into tomorrow's game at Cheltenham.

Spare a though for all our little local rivals who will be slogging it out over the next few days in the hope they can eventually win a couple of games and draw a plum tie at NYS in the 3rd round

Well done to Alvechurch in their 2-1 victory at Cheltenham Town. Winning away at league opposition is immense but breaking the MM curse to do so is monumental.
