If we dont get promoted this year it may be a blessing in disguise as VK will need a few transfer windows to build a team of permanent signings that could compete in the PL.
I agree CIB. I will be more than happy if we don’t get promoted. I love the feeling before every game that we have a chance of winning. It is exciting to see us bossing games, playing elegant football that JimmyMac would be proud of.

We may have only won 1 from our first 5 league games but surely our win percentage is going to improve.
I agree 100% Outwood. I believe we will get better. It is still early days. In my opinion, they are playing better after 5 games than the old team did in the last three years. It is interesting to see how Brownhill, Cork, Taylor and JRod are adjusting and shining with this style of play. If they can do it now, why were they not allowed to play like that under Dyche?

My opinion, for what it's worth, because playing like that against the likes of Blackpool and Luton is feasible for these players, trying to pass the ball around and football the PL top ten off the park, would have led to disaster. Let's be honest, this football, good as it is to watch, currently has us placed 15th in the Championship, we'd have been relegated by Christmas playing like this in the PL.

Fair comment, sinkov. I am not suggesting that the PL and the Championship are one and the same. However, there are teams in the PL that are not that good. Yet we played the same way irrespective of the opposition. How many games did we have more than 40% of the possession? Were 19 teams better than us in that respect?

We have lost 1 game all season and we haven't started with the preceived 'Best 11' yet.....

Having had a few days with my thoughts, I will add... I expect more from the old heads.. Cork as captain needs to take the majority of the responsibility and brownie and taylor also... these experienced players needed to control the tempo and be vocal and make sure these young lads pull through... we have 10x local derby games... they will all require EXTRA... the captain and the experienced players have extra responsibilities this year... they need to step up and help these lads pull through.. Cork needs to grow a bigger pair, he doesn't get in the refs face/ run up and get players off these lads, I don't hear him shouting or offering guidance.. he should have organized better. Its time for him to stand up as a captain.. that's the job!

Great point FTD.We dont really have a captain personality in the team at the moment.I really dont know who I would give the captains armband to.It wouldn`t be Corky because he is good at what he does but he does not have a stamp of authority about him.If I had to choose it would have to be Brownhill. At least he is a bit more feisty.

I am not sure that there will be a team captain. VK appears to operate more on a collegiate basis. There is, apparently a senior group charged with the responsibility of leadership.

Cork is probably a bit too “nice”. Taylor and Barnes are a not the brightest kids on the block. Westwood is injured. I don’t see JRod as a leader. JBG can lead in the treatment room so that leaves Brownhill. Based upon his recent performances, he is a good choice.
