If Warne doesn't take Barker and Hamshaw (though think it's likely they go, given they are all about to go on holiday in Portugal together), then who from Ronnie's teams do we appoint to keep the old boys together?

    Hurst
    Robins
    Artell
    Watson

Robins would be the only one for me, but he signed a new deal in Summer, so let's try a fresh start by not appointing a former player.

In general (Evans apart) we have done pretty crap these past 40 years when appointing a manager with no RUFC affinity so I think it'll be a brave man who brings in yet another 'stranger'.

What about Nigel Clough? He fielded a decent Burton side in the championship a few years ago. Feel we need someone with championship management experience and has more championship management success than Hurst, for example.

Liam Rosenior - just removed as interim manager at Derby - very inexperienced, young with plenty to prove. Season could crash and burn or a new manager could galvanise the squad. Either way it's a tough gig for any new manager coming in.

Can't see us paying the wages wanted by the majority of that list.

    Could afford some of them.

Then there are ex-players who don't really need the money and want to make a start in management, like John Terry there.

I don't think he'd come this far North but there must be similar.
