I came to that conclusion a while back. I do see us as mid table also rans. Nothing special to be feared. It's natural with no investment (basic) in the club and no reliance on youth earlier.
It makes for a better season without the added unwarranted expectations of automatic promotion or play offs.
Lots of other bang average players in this league in better set up clubs.

We were outrun by an energetic Bristol side, who defended their lead well. I didn’t go to the Reading success, so unable to make comparisons, but, from all the reports of that match, we were a totally different side.
I felt we lacked the energy (very evident by Bristol) maybe reflecting our older players not being able to step up to the demands of the Championship.
Pleased to see Beale made early substitutions as Livermore and Philips were poor. We sit in the East towards the Smethwick, so couldn’t really get a good look at Cleary. He did seem to get involved ?
Another very disappointing performance, wherein we really didn’t threaten and the crosses from both wings (sadly dire from Townsend) were easily defended by Bristol.
Defensively we were off the pace and looked shaky, and gave the ball away too often in midfield.
Overall not a good evening’s entertainment, but onwards and upwards, but looking forward to the next home game following our away success at Millwall !!
