Seems to be little optimism from the Notts Supporters, come on we are top of the league, have one of the best away records, and hve scored 25 goals on the road
I hope LW is more positive than the suppoters

I’m a bit less worried about this than others, just because I think Maher is doing a great job at Southend actually building a team in a fairly similar way to ours, but is still a year or two behind. They play exactly the same system and shape as us, and have a good team, but there’s an obvious gulf in quality between the respective front threes (hence us having scored so many more), where we can hopefully win the game. Our few struggles this season have come when the opposition have offered an obvious point of difference, be it Dorking’s plastic pitch or Bromley’s direct physicality.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Williams pull the same trick he did at York against another 3-5-2 team on a good run - surprising them by dropping Scott for Castro to give us the extra man in midfield. They never got to grips with it at all and let us completely dominate possession.

To be fair. I had a read of the Southend forum and one chap stated that although on a decent run they hadn’t beaten anyone high up the league… the highest placed teams have been York and Barnet. Both of which we beat.
I am optimistic that IF we play well, we win. It’s that simple for me. We’ve had a week off so no excuses really.

Who is it that asks the questions in these interviews and then when answered says ‘yeah’? Literally after every question. The guy doesn’t have a conversation with Luke, instead has his 6/7 questions that have been pre-selected. It’s **** journalism

Yeah it’s daft to talk about ‘must win’ games at this stage of the season, but the Bromley draw makes this feel like it’s not far off, especially with another tough game on Saturday. Southend are obviously playing well, but I’m not sure they’ve played anyone who’s much kop.

    2-1 Notts.

Damn right it's "daft" to even mention 'must win games' or even close at this stage of the season especially when you are top. Dropped points at Roots Hall would still have us one result from the top of results went our way. Madness I tells ya, madness.

I've changed my mind after a few deliberations and am now opting for this

    Southend 0 - Notts 2

Langstaff back on track 1 & Rodders 1 either penalty or wonder free kick!
I feel it in my water (Sainsburys finest triple filter, bottled from a well in the peaks)
