So for once guys on Twitter etc were all bang on with the Story that our head coach was at the pitch inspection and told the official the game should be postponed only to be overruled by last night's 4th official.
All the officials should be dropped this weekend and the SFA/SPFL should compensate Dundee United and travelling fans with proof of a match ticket. That's the FN least they should be doing.

    Belter!!

Now they can't even use a white ball for five months of the season, regardless of the weather.

Couldn't agree more re: officials being held accountable.

Both clubs come out of this debacle in a good light. United being the victims of the nonsense, but having challenged it at 3pm. Livi in fairness did the right thing and got the early inspection that should have prevented any problem for either club or fans. They clearly were concerned about the viability of the game too.

Can debate all we like about what pitches and what heating etc. but that isn't going to change soon. Process in place should have prevented yesterday happening and the fault lies entirely with the SFA.

For officials to be respected they also need to be accountable. This is an SFA farce and they should not be as quiet as they have been about it.

    100% this! ^^^
A 3pm pitch inspection would have meant that fans had enough notice. The officials and the SFA are the ones in the wrong here. If their was a split decision on whether it went ahead....surely in this day and age, a video call could have been made for a second opinion from someone more senior. Absolute Mickey Mouse league and would not happen if it was the old firm playing Livi...and that is a fact!

On another note, reading about artificial surfaces, it says that they should not be subject to freezing unless the drainage underneath the surface is not in good order...hence all weather.

It wasn't the base underneath that froze. It was the plastic itself. I'm no expert on astro but I'm fairly sure consistent brushing of the surface would've stopped it freezing.
