A question about penalties….. we were down to 10. They had 11….
If it had gone to sudden death, what would have happened if it was tied at 10-10……….. who would have taken our 11th?

Jules you've followed this club as long as I have mate and we've seen it all .

It wasn't our day , it's as simple as that .

I said weeks ago sometimes it's better to be a lucky manager than a good un and Wilson or Ritchie would have pulled that off today but neither in my opinion are as good as Duff is .

    He's exceptional , top draw .

That said neither of us know what the short term future holds following today but it might be a good idea to give Duff the backing that he needs .

Give Duff a couple of million and he'll win us the league next season in my opinion .

Over to the club mate for me , we are either a major player at this level or we are Charlton Athletic or Portsmouth and scratching around .

The usual b@llax and Duff will be gone and we aren't replacing this guy like for like anytime soon .

Make or break this summer in my opinion .

I'm sat here absolutely cream crackered, god I hate London!!
I've had time to reflect now and have to say that I'm so proud of our players today, they gave everything, when Phillips put that tackle in, my instant response was that the ref was gonna send him off it looked a bad one from behind the goal and haven't seen it back yet or the penalty incident as the defeat is still a bit raw!
Our fans were also outstanding today!
I enjoyed my first visit to BOXBAR which again was a fantastic experience.
We absolutely have to keep Duff and back him 100% he is irreplaceable, I will be glad to see the back of Tedic and wouldn't bat an eye if Cole left either! Iwant Mads to stay but I think he will be sold on.
Hopefully Thomas and Isted will sign permanently? Norwood changed that game today he was my MOM an absolute star! and I love him to bits, but can we afford to give him another 12 months when he can clearly only manage 70 mins max?
I think Watters could sign as well but I'm unsure about him ATM.
All in all gutted now but on reflection we have had a much better season than I ever dreamed possible.

In truth, when we started going, all them years ago…..Did we ever think we’d see us at Wembley as many times as we have….OR EVEN ONCE? In our lifetime….
Or to Grace the top flight? No…..
I’m very proud of the players and manager tonight. Very.
Wasn’t our day as you said… but we made a damn good fist of it.

I hate London too Perky….. horrible

I was proud of our efforts today. Magnificent to a man. We defended superbly and deserved at least a pop at a penalty shootout. A valiant effort.

As has been already said, it's football and just wasn't our day. Hard to take but its gone now and we have to look forward.

Our fans were absolutely top draw today. They backed the lads and were stirred by their efforts. What a shame it didn't go our way. We had our big moment when Kitching broke and Luke Thomas found himself in a glorious position and should've shot imo but instead reversed it to Connell who unfortunately couldn't hit the target. That goes in and we win it imo.

I've reflected on the aftermath and how I see it is that the board need to back Michael Duff this summer, and provide him with the necessary ammunition to have another pop at promotion because I think we have a really top draw and level headed head coach in our midst who I truly believe in, and will be successful if given the tools.

Over to Parekh and Co. Big summer this and a statement of our intent and ambition will be reflected in the way that we operate in the transfer market. We have a platform, don't destroy it please

Lads were great today gave it all. Great effort. Think we were due a penalty and then there wouldn’t have been a sending off.

Went as expected for me as I said before.

Pigs will be delighted that they will be playing in the lower echelons of the English second tier.

Hope our owners get the message after today and this season. Invest some brss

Just seen the brief highlights on YouTube and the refereeing decisions were symptomatic of our season. It's not moaning or sour grapes but the big decisions today were terrible. I said to the lads on the way down, "we have VAR so surely the ref can't do us". How wrong I was. The whole season we've suffered some chronic refereeing. Literally nothing has gone for us and plenty against us. Time for a change of luck me thinks.

Gutted for Duff and the boys. They gave it their all, but it wasn't meant to be. The sending off only warranted a yellow, IMO, but maybe I'm biased. If it was the other way round I'd probably have been screaming for a red card. The penalty shout was a good one though. The problem with VAR is that it's only as good as the people operating it. Both incidents should have called for the ref to at least look at them.
If Duff is backed as we want him to be, it's an automatic promotion next season. The squad only needs tweaking as far as I can see, but that's only if certain players don't leave. I too wouldn't mind Tedic and Cole leaving, but I'd want Mads to stay, how I've changed my tune about that lad, and I'd give Norwood another year. 70 minutes of Norwood is better than 90 of either Tedic or Watters.
