Thread: Takeover imminent.

  1. #41
    The 49ers already hold 46% so a lot of the consortium will already have been vetted and approved it is the new money coming in (but they might be below thresholds for vetting)

    Looks like we could have a few PGA golfers as part owners too.

    No matter what the situation regarding PGA golfers wanting to joining the bandwagon, the fact that 49-ers Enterprises already have a shareholding isn't relevant to the ownership issue, nor the evaluation by the EFL of those shareholders as "fit and proper persons" etc", because no such evaluation will have been required as, until recently, there was no acquisition of the club in prospect.

    Accepting that the evaluation will be limited to the "top 11", it's still going to be end-June before the white smoke emerges.

    So, three weeks on and more from what we all suspected was going to happen, and despite the agreement regarding the takeover (valuation etc), nothing is possible until we have EFL approval, which will probably be given some time after the new season fixtures are announced.

    This is why I said, a few weeks ago, that Radrizzani has done more damage to the club than Ridsdale, and for even worse reasons.

    Ridsdale was guilty of a great many things that did great damage to LUFC, but he was also guilty of something that Radrizzani clearly hasn't (and hadn't) had for Leeds, ambition. Ridsdale was blinded by the desire to get LUFC into Europe and for us to stay there, and be part of the emerging PL, and to stay there. He made blunders, made bad decisions, for sure, but his decisions were driven by ambition (greed!) for success for LUFC.

    Radrizzani has used LUFC as nothing more than a stepping stone to what he wanted all along, a plaything Italian club that he can waltz around in whilst his sports media empire continues to sponge of the enthusiasm of football fans the world over. His willingness to offer a ground he effectively only part-owned to bolster his bid shows the cynical and duplicitous capability of the man, and I will be glad when hs is gone and (hopefully) all memory of his time as LUFC owner will rapidly be expunged. He leaves the club, without any clear ownership, without an executive that knows what it's doing, a total absence of managerial and coaching staff at the start of a period of rebuilding that presents the greatest challenge to LUFCs continued existence in the clubs history. He makes Ridsdale look positively saintly, and dare I say it, Bates look like a god!

    Like I said;

    Although how they make out we have two months to go before seasons start is beyond me. It's the end of June, and if the report is right and EFL approval comes next week we will be in July, and the first game is 9th August. We will have around 5 weeks, tick tock, tick tock.

    I say again, Radrizzani has, in his own special, cold and calculated way, shafted LUFC like no other owner EVER. He has used LUFC for his own ends, with no thought whatsoever for the consequences once he departed, no thought for what his disgraceful conduct would have on the club and its supporters, not even a thought for the other reprobates who have aided and abetted his theft of what was a genuine ability on LUFCs part to obtain and retain PL status. I hope he is declared bankrupt soon, and burns in hell.
