No room for plucky losers against Australia. England lost a game they should have won comfortably

Well done ALL those involved today, it has been a great spectacle to watch.

Did we declare too early? I don't think so. Hindsight is a great thing to comment on once the horse has bolted so for me Stokes was being brave doing what he did. Let's not forget it's only 1-0
I'm with you Brin - it was a magnificent game of cricket. If Stokes hadn't declared, the result would more likely have been a draw and Bazball doesn't do draws!

England had their fair share of misfortune - primarily Ali's index finger. Had he been fit, I reckon he and Root would have finished off the Aussies without the need to take the new ball.

However, credit to the Baggy Greens, they ground out a victory having been outplayed in most aspects of the game.

Is it timely to mention my dual English/Aussie citizenship? Thought not!

Beaten by better game management rather than the better team.
On we go to the next one.

To some extent there is. I much prefer the moniker of plucky losers (if that's what we want to call today's team) than that of 'f$%king useless' that could be applied to many England teams over the past 4 decades.

They'll definitely be England changes for Lords. The attack is virtually knackered with Anderson, Stokes and Ali not being able to ball in that last session. Thank goodness for Root!

My Aussie half is definitely my second half. Had to become a citizen when I did 10 years in their military. It's useful having both passports when it comes to choosing which queue to join at Heathrow or Sydney airports!

Feel quite embarrassed after watching that shambolic batting performance from England this morning. Hugill and MT were more impressive at Wickersley last night!!

Well organized test team v the happy sloggers. If the captain is ok with losing an exciting match, why should anyone else be upset?
