Have now seen the Nelson rugby tackle. That's anther penalty we should have had.
    1. Handball not given. Referee error.
    2. Penalty awarded before Wash scored so ref got that right
    3. Their penalty was a free kick outside the box, not a penalty. Referee error.
    4. Handball shout with their player on all fours. Not a penalty. Ref got it right
    5. No handball by JW so no red card. Another referee error
    6. Nelson bundled over, penalty not given. Another ref error

Those were the 6 big calls he had to make. He got 4 wrong. All to our detriment.

I bow to your detective work and if the visuals are as you say, I agree. But in his defence, third division football deserves third division officiating

I would say Burton and District League Division 5 deserves refs who understand the rules and apply them correctly. I did the KNVB refs course over here. Passed the written exam with 95%. Then there was a series of evening games in which all the candidate refs played and we all got to ref 15 minutes or so. We were then let loose but had a KNVB adjudicator at your first 3 games. Any errors were extensively covered at HT and FT. If you got a bad mark from a side you were again given an adjudicator for a game. There's no excuse for errors, especially on the big calls. For instance, for their penalty he was 4, maybe 5, yards away with a clear view. How he missed that the challenge was outside the box is a mystery.

I thought the Wildsmith sending off was a big call and it now seems he didn't handle the ball and the club are appealing against his sending off. Would we have lost with 11 on the field? Maybe, but it certainly swung the game in Bolton's favour.

"would say Burton and District League Division 5 deserves refs who understand the rules and apply them correctly"

If rA is to be believed well soon be playing at that level....

Hmmm...and I’ve suggested anything remotely like that where exactly?

    Wildsmith red card rescinded.

In other news I'm sure Ian Evatt was happy to win but he has an odd way of celebrating

Players changing position (Smith). RB may well be his long term role. I then take a look at a player who started out life as a left winger, was changed to left Mid, then left WB, then LB and now, it seems, a capable CH at this level. Following Rooney's, now confirmed ACL problem, RB could be the way forward for Smith

I guess it depends upon the formation, Smith hasn't played RWB to my knowledge, Rooney has played RCB this season, I guess we will see how things pan out going forward. At least we have Cashin until January.

Swale...you know as well as I do it wasn’t a ‘doom and gloom’ response. I said it was ‘one of those days’ and referred to ‘concerns’ about our defence.
Of course there were mitigating circumstances at Bolton...but I’ve been talking about the season as a whole. We’ve had two slightly fortunate clean sheets against two of the bottom clubs. I wasn’t at Burton but hear we were a tad lucky. I was at the Fleetwood match and compared with Oxford four days earlier we showed some fight, but were fortunate not to concede.
Those two games apart we’ve been routinely conceding two goals a game and that has to be a source of ‘concern’. Whether it’s down to formation and whether Warne will be too stubborn to change remains to be seen but we aren’t as defensively strong as we were.
Fact is...since the end of January we’ve won ten out of twenty six games, invariably against the weaker teams in the league and that too is a ‘concern’.
If you don’t share them and want to think all is well in ‘DCFC World’ that’s fair enough, you’re perfectly entitled to your view...as I am to mine.
As for the ‘ex teacher’ bit...what on earth has the way I used to earn a living got to do with anything? One minute you’re finding fault because apparently I use ‘perfect prose’ (your words not mine)...the next I’m apparently not clear enough. Make your mind up chap, or better still, just drop the personal crap altogether because at the moment ‘debating’ with you is like having one of those irritating ankle nipping little dogs snapping about and I’m beginning to feel a bit sorry for Rats.
