I don’t use that term, the one I used was referring to the style of football played at home, the long ball to a loan striker, and as I said on a previous post it is a reference to the style of football not the player. I am still not a fan of his, but I am quite happy to be proven wrong, if he scores goals and plays like he can and not fighting all the time. I don’t want any Rotherham player to fail, or any manager, the club comes first. That doesn’t mean I won’t comment on a discussion board, that is the purpose of the board.
DM, I never realised how easy you get all defensive from a tedious quip. Anyway I do owe you an open and honest apology for misreading your previous post. You did indeed use the term Hugillball and not Hugebill. My mistake and I profusely apologise.

Hope I haven’t ruined your evening, keep on posting 😉

😄 ‘ Have the power’? I never knew you needed power to create a post. Anyway I’ve apologised to Derby for misreading his post so you can come out of his corner now 😉

Really enjoyed today, not so much the first half but you have to give credit to Taylor from stopping the first half onslaught with what seemed a strange substitution.

Second half was chalk and cheese. More vigour, purpose, and a great effort from the lads.

Viktor, simply awesome 10/10 and surely will depart for better things and he’ll owe us nothing if he goes.

The excellent equaliser, simply stunning and well done to all involved. After that WE pushed more, took the game to Southampton and defended resolutely to the end to take home what may well be a very well earned point.

I wasn't there today and questioned the sanity of those were after recent performances. I'm chuffed to bits for those who made the journey today.

I think most of us expected a battering today and those who didn't were surely only saying it out of blind optimism. Their goal within two minutes didn't change my mind.

Credit therefore goes to Matt Taylor for the brave tactical change in the first half. Listening on the radio it sounded like the always magnificent Viktor has kept us in the game and Hugill has pulled out a moment of magic. He's been criticised lately, and rightly so in my opinion, but credit where it's due today. We've ridden our luck but who cares, we're due a bit. It sounded like some players were dead on their feet at the end and if the effort is like that, we can't ask any more. Hopefully this is a turning point.

Big shout out to Matt Taylor for his imaginative substitutions today that got us a point that probably none of us expected before kick off.
Also he may have seen something in the performances of one or two of the substitutes that will give him more confidence in starting them in the future.
Hopefully the squad will take a lot of encouragement from today's result and come out with all guns blazing after the international break. UTM.

Should be 3 or 4 down by half time

Matty Taylor deserves credit for subbing and changing formation.

It blocked southampton a bit once he did.

    Quality goal by hugill.

Secound half was better not as much one way traffic.

Mom viktor kept us in it and kept the score down.

We are gonna need 5 or 10 million to replace him.

Was the music in the ground to loud or am u getting old

There fans been singing all game once we scored didn't hear a song out off them and started to leave early.

My boy who's 17 born and bred nowhere near Rotherham said in last 10 minutes... I love it when we return to being **** Housery Rotherham that's what we're about.

Amd you know what... He's right.

We all love it when do the ugly stuff right in the face of PL wannabes and then see X or twitter trend with.... Teams Like Rotherham.

Soon as MT realises that's what we're about as a club and he gets the team doing that the fans will relate.

Credit where its due today he made the right call. I'm not sure Fred should come off over Andre Green who is a waste of a shirt. He contributes nothing. But the erhos was right stop the onslaught make sure we don't concede again and when our little spell comes capitalise on it.

Vik was immense. Best GK in the Championship bar none. And we'll done Jordan for being THAT switched on when everyone had gone to sleep after the substitution. Their GKs positioning was awful but a lob like that could have easily gone over the bar. Hughill either turns up more bothered about his 50/50 duals and the opposite player or is bothered about his football. When it's the latter we get today and also the screamer he scored the other week or header against Norwich....more please Jordan!

I'm not getting excited yet. MT has got to stop regurgitating the A License course. He's a clever bloke, a nice bloke and he needs to stop impressing things on a group that can't deal with what he wants. See what we're good at and hit teams with it. We'd rather lose 4-3 than 1-0. Too many games we haven't laid a glove on teams and that has to stop. Yes we'll lose a few but we'll also win some.

Appiahs offside looked very very close.

Getting concerned about Nombe too starting to look like very bad business

MT: the reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated! I had my doubts but yesterday gave us hope. Get Odoffin fit will give us another option at centre back. Arvin starting for Green needs to happen. Points there to be had between now & the January transfer window.
