    Short summary.
    Championship 5th place.

    Longer summary.
Anyone with a modicum of business sense would look at that 5th place and think - give the HC a huge bonus to keep him here for next season - plus a bit of investment next season into the squad - and things could become very interesting the following season.

But what actually happened was - let’s upset the director that identified these players, that cost us relatively nowt to put a team together - and let’s not use our own money to keep the HC here or invest in the squad - instead we will wait to sell players and then use that money to reinvest.
    And then they waited.
    And no offers came in.

What I’m describing here is that the system has been shown to work.
    We all witnessed that.
It took a few seasons starting around the time of the appointment of Morais - and at times it was a real rollercoaster ride but the club eventually got there.

It’s going to take a few seasons to get back to the top 6 in the Championship.
We can’t put a date on it - but the directors have shown that it can be done - and IMO they will do it again.
But this time there won’t be Conway stood there to kick the skittles over.
Why don't we quicken our progress to the top of the championship up a bit YN ?

1 , Don't sell any season or match tickets so that Oakwell is totally deserted .

2 , spend 90 minutes lobbing balls from the halfway line in to the opposition's box .

3 , kick the ball straight out of play from our kick off .

4 , Don't let any tv cameras or opposition scouts in to Oakwell what so ever so that we can't get rumbled this time .

    Piece a pyss .

    Donovan C Pines, USA

Thanks to you guys for your hospitality and the chance to meet the guys on the new season roster in the locker room. Nice to meet up with Neill and Jon again. Different to the Rowdies eh Neill.
Just one thing. My e-mail may be playing up. Your offer of bucks per week is missing a zero at the end of the number, right ? I laughed with my partner when she said, "Surely guys are not signed into the franchise on that amount--our game security guys get more". I would be grateful if the error on the contract could be corrected before I sign.

( Please don't insult posters saying we are all Conway lovers/ defenders to deflect away from the issues)
If James Cryne ever writes a book it would be well worth reading.

I suspect that James and the recruitment team with the help of the CEO has identified all the HCs we have had since Morais.
And that includes Schopp and Ashbagi.

I would imagine it’s up to the board to then approve those HCs.
At the time of Ismaels appointment Conway/Lee being the major shareholders must have had the final word which HCs they would approach.
Then if things work as normal it would be left to the CEO to start proceedings to employ the HC.

We don’t know the dates of when things went from bad to worse between the Cryne/JAQ/Neerav camp and the Conway/Lee camp.
But we do know that Conway was acting as CEO and determining who played in the team and how the team played during the Schopp and Ashbagi season.
Hence the reason you won’t see me criticising either Schopp or Ashbagi.
I suspect those two are good HCs that didn’t stand a chance at Barnsley.

    .
    We do know the dates.

It was when The New York Investor Group ( including Matthew Edmonds, JAQ's husband) realised Conway wasn't delivering on the promised profits and dumped him as their representative at BFC, taking their 20% of shares over to Parekh to give him boardroom control.

This was in May 2022 following relegation from the Championship under Asbaghi.

    To a degree.
That’s the date that JAQ was able to jump ship.
But it would be interesting to get to know when things started to get bad between the two camps that lead up to that ???
Us fans don’t know half of it.
But yer can bet yer bottom dollar there’s a reyt tale to tell.

We are still waiting for “ A story to be told “ from the then Mayor of Barnsley Peter Doyle from over twenty years ago.
