Yep the new site seems to be slow today although it does load.
Remember it was always suggested as an alternative. If we did end up moving it may make sense to explore all options (or some new ones) but for the moment at least we have a backup for MAD

Totally mate. The alternate one is there and usable most days. In fact today is the first time it’s thrown connection errors to me.
I also registered on the v I t a l as well for a new user to see how long they take to accept my registration.

There’s no clear ‘winner’ or path forward after the poll and it’s definitely not on me to tell others what to do or not to…
The poll reveals a fairly even split of stay or seek alternative arrangements.
Considering the fairly even split, it shows a small majority are for moving, but in no way shape or form, enough for posters to abandon MAD as it is.
Let’s hope this site picks up technically speaking (which it has tbf in last two days) and the backup isn’t needed.
So for me personally, I’ll keep on here, but have the other site as a backup on my bookmarks if this one keeps crashing all the time.

This site is still regularly unavailable for me. I often get the message "This page isn’t working. boards.footymad.net is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 503".

You would expect that at this time of year the boards would be very quiet, but they still can't seem to cope.

Same. I've started looking at the alternative board again as I've not been able to get on here frequently for last week. Random luck of the draw if it lets you in or not!

A couple of times when I have had a similar message I have gone on to the Rotherham Mad or Cardiff Mad sites - picked at random and found them to be working. Gone back to the Notts site and it was OK. Probably just coincidence.
Perhaps we could enquire of other Mad boards and see if they get the same problem. I've just looked at a couple of others now and see that they aren't used much.

Bit hit and miss at times opening up this site so I tend to check both sites.

that should not make any difference as all the boards will be on same server the there is unlikely to be rate limiting by board. I just looked and the boards are hosted with a company called Hyve in the UK. Their reviews are ok on the whole. I would say that as the hosting is on a shared server there are other things on the server causing the outages - other processes running chewing up the bandwidth not related to footymad. Seems to be worse late at night UK time early morning here which is when I usually read the board ( had to wait until lunch time today middle of the night in UK).

Don't know what the issue is. If it's not available, it's a chance for everyone to do something much more useful.
