Same. I've started looking at the alternative board again as I've not been able to get on here frequently for last week. Random luck of the draw if it lets you in or not!

Don't know what the issue is. If it's not available, it's a chance for everyone to do something much more useful.

I don't know if the_anticlough's comment was tongue in cheek (I certainly took it that way), but if it was serious I would disagree with it.

It would be like saying we should accept poor service because we can catch up when they decide to get off their arses and make it work.

No, not tongue in cheek, but not 'serious' either and disagree away. If I try to visit the site and it's unavailable I just see it as an opportunity to do or read something else. How lucky for me.

To play devil's advocate, do you adopt that philosophy in all walks of life?

For example, if British Gas doesn't supply when you want to cook your dinner, do you happily go and read a chapter or two and think you can eat when the supply resumes?

A couple of times when I have had a similar message I have gone on to the Rotherham Mad or Cardiff Mad sites - picked at random and found them to be working. Gone back to the Notts site and it was OK. Probably just coincidence.
Perhaps we could enquire of other Mad boards and see if they get the same problem. I've just looked at a couple of others now and see that they aren't used much.

Bit hit and miss at times opening up this site so I tend to check both sites.

that should not make any difference as all the boards will be on same server the there is unlikely to be rate limiting by board. I just looked and the boards are hosted with a company called Hyve in the UK. Their reviews are ok on the whole. I would say that as the hosting is on a shared server there are other things on the server causing the outages - other processes running chewing up the bandwidth not related to footymad. Seems to be worse late at night UK time early morning here which is when I usually read the board ( had to wait until lunch time today middle of the night in UK).
